Meh... That's... So awful...
How people on my country can still think that racism is valid as long as it's used as retalliation for racist comments?
I mean, seriously? You think you stop stupid, pointless hatred with more stupid, pointless hatred?
A few days ago, a really smart girl from my country posted on her facebook that she felt digusted by how people with white. She made a really pitiful attempt using every last neuron of her half brain to describe that white skin seemed to her as being like the skin of a frog or the belly of a snake (yes, as if those things are even alike), because you could see the veins through it. She described that she doesn't even had the guts to touch it, and that she never will let her white friends hug her, because she fear that white skin is cold and slimy.
That's... So freakin' preposterous... That I can't even...
Thanks the Goddesses that she was at least latino-skinned. Yup, she wasn't even a black girl. If she was white I would really lose my shit with this country.
When I first saw it, I thought it was so dumb, so absurdly immature that I completely ignore that bull crap. I mean, what does a rich, latino girl, which day is composed of discussing about make-up with her other rich, latino girls friends and complaining about school knows about life? She barely lived! Heck! I bet she doesn't even pay attention to her history classes, because who cares for history right? Having good grades is a nerd thingy, and girls needs to be with chavs and cool older guys, right?
What killed this whole mess for me, was actually, engaging in a discussion about racism with a friend.
This friend was pissed, because he claims that "nothing will happen to her because she's black", and "If it was the other way around, it would have consequences." He says that this only furthers his hatred towards black people, because they "have the right to be racist."
NO! NO! NO!
That's not how you do it!
That's just the way of thinking that fills our world with bias and assholes!
NO ONE! NO FUCKIN' ONE HAS ANY RIGHT TO BE RACIST OR HAVE ANY BIAS!
They are BOTH wrong! However, this friend o' mine thinks he's right. That minorities hide behind a "Poor one's shield" and automatically gains the right to be racist themselves. And that they ACTUALLY DO IT, all of them, without exception, so they must all be hated and "learn their place."
That's so messed up... So fucking messed up... That I can't even believe this.
I'm not sure anymore about this guy. I don't even know if I consider him a friend anymore. We are minorities ourselves. Nerds, fat guys; I'm sure he had his share of how shitty life can be when you do not fit in society's role model. But it doesn't give you the right to hate back.
It also doesn't mean you can't defend yourself, but spreading the same shit that is thrown on you only serves to make the mess bigger!
