    Late-Night Mini-Rant: Buses and Crossings

Anyone that ever rode on a school bus can probably empathize here. Or maybe it's something that only happened to me, and only I'm bothered by. Either way, those times when school buses have to constantly stop at every single train crossing? It's pretty annoying. Now, I didn't really give that much of a shit whilst I was the little twerp riding said bus, no... but in the

Friendly Reminder To The Fandom, and Fans In General

You know what's bullshit? When aged, grown-up men (and women) get assblasted and aggro'd over a cartoon meant for those who are still some years away from reaching puberty. When they, the self-declared "true fans" of the show, seem to think that they know what's best for the show and the audience it was specifically written for. I can say that "it's a show for little girls" and "it wasn't made

    On Mind Alteration

Okay, not even gonna try and justify my last break. I was tired, stressed, and wanted a little escape, which ended up turning into a bit of an extended hiatus. And yet, somehow, several months barely felt like a few days. Blegh. Oh well. Funny thing is, what really got me is a case of being in the wrong place at the right time. Or wrong time, rather. Everything about it seemed wrong. But anyway,

So I've been away for a while. · 1:43pm Nov 2nd, 2014

Normally I wouldn't bother posting a blog like this, but I figured I might as well explain the long delay in my rants/reviews. Since, y'know, I missed a good three weeks worth of feature box reviews, on top of other things going on. New site updates, some new enhancements; I'm not complaining, I do like that they've fixed the issues with the blog editor and made it far better to use, honestly. But anyway, moving on to the point of this blog. Now, I don't like taking up space with frivolous matters that people reading this likely won't care about, so I'll keep this as terse as I can:

Reasons for my activity silence? Mostly personal life matters, but it also had something to do with my ancient computer hardware finally giving up the ghost, thus reducing my browsing ability to a shitty mobile device (an android tablet, to be specific; not a bad one, but the browser is still subpar compared to a full desktop or laptop setup), and a shittier wireless hotspot. Yes, I could still be online sometimes, but there was basically no way I could write my reviews, or get around reading a ton of stories in the first place. And I don't think I need try to explain the horror that is "Mobile Skype", do I? Yeah. Fun times.

But, this story does have a happy ending, since I managed to procure a new-ish desktop setup and resolve the issue of not being able to... well, do anything, really. Nothing spectacular, but it gets the job done, at least. That was only solving part of the overall problem, but to qualm the other half, things have settled down enough to a point where I can do things at a somewhat reasonable pace again. Which means, yes, I can still rant and review things in my usual dreary tone that you people can't seem to get enough of, now. I'll be having plenty of things to say, don't you worry.

In fact, I've considered opening up a review queue for requested stories in particular that people can ask for, not just feature box ones-- I guess it doesn't really matter if the story is yours or someone else's, and I'll probably even do one of my own choosing at times. Hell, I might even do "blog requests" of sorts (where you could ask for a topic regarding fanfiction/the site itself/whatever else to be covered by me, if I have anything to say about it), but that's something I'm kinda iffy about at the moment. All of this is to, of course, hopefully spur on a little more activity and give me more regular things to work on. Because, let me tell you... if I don't have something to do? It's not good for me. Being idle is something that drives me nuts, and heaven help you if you ever knew me personally. Between my current familial situation (of which I'd rather not get into) and the computer issues, I've not a lot else to keep myself occupied. So... just a thing to consider, and all.

...Well, that wasn't very terse at all, was it? Ah, well. There I go, off on tangents again. So, to end this quickly, and on a somewhat high note, you can expect more content from me before too long. (And I mean it, this time. Last time was a fluke.)

On the contrary, that's one of the few things I actually managed to bear witness to, though my participation was limited to passing comment on the first story. It's... well, I'm not sure I even have words for it. I might just move on and pretend it didn't happen. I knew it was coming, so I can at least say I was expecting it.

Welcome back! Always enjoyed your rants, and glad to be expecting more!

Can't wait to see what will hit the feature box next. Heh.
