I suppose the comparison is valid. However, Scott Pilgrim has a more actiony feel, especially with the punk rock accompanying the battle in the background. In Rainbow Rocks, the pop music doesn't really pump up the battle as it should and the battle doesn't feel as hectic. Still enjoy both movies though.

2574851 Ripoff implies that it succeeded to capture the feeling Scott Pilgrim gave with its battles. It's more of a pathetic attempt at action scenes inspired by the movie.
