    Happy ten-ten y'all, have a podcast

Today is 10/10, which is a happy coincidence of timing because I've been meaning to mention this podcast I stumbled on to you all.

    a tribute a shoutout a question a plan

"Twilight?" Applejack eased her head through the doorway. Dulled clanks came from further inside, and much of the equipment crowding the room glowed with a dull purple sheen.

"Working!" called Twilight from the other side of the largest element.

    "Twilight, mail call!" insisted Applejack.

    Canonical Example

I have just tonight declared the season two time-travel episode "It's About Time" to be the canonical example of stable time loops involving sentient beings. Just wanted to share that.

Didn't even need to mention ponies to do it, oddly.

PSA: Attenuation on the Read Later · 11:41pm Sep 27th, 2014

I believe I now have proof that the Read Later list attenuates. That's all I know about it, but here is what I have.

A couple days ago (pretty sure it was Thursday) I trimmed my Read Later down to 1140.[1] Then I added HV's Leviathan[2], bringing me (obviously) to 1141. Today, I read Leviathan, and took it off. Afterwards I noticed I was now at 1139. But I'd only took off the one fic.

This isn't the first time I've noticed my Read Later mysteriously get lower. Just the first time I've been able to prove it.

Just FYI.

[1] Oh, don't get on me over the number of fics on my Read Later. I know it's preposterous.
[2] Which I endorse, if you haven't decided whether to read it.

Why should I get all up in arms about your read later list when mine is at 2391? :pinkiecrazy:

Odds are someone removed their fic from your Read Later list by removing it from the site.

I thought of that. And if it were just the one, and it were just the once, that would be the most plausible explanation. But I've seen it take larger sudden drops in the past--unverifiable ones, sadly--and they've happened more than once. So unless those instances were mods removing swaths of fics, several of which happened to be in my read later, I'd have to say that fics removed from the site doesn't hold water.

I don't know about the current configuration of mods, but in the past they've reported reluctance to remove previously-approved fics from the site. So I still think attenuation wins.

I... have a Read Later of 8. One of them I've already read. For the rest, I'm just trying to remember that they exist in case I ever decide I want to read them.

I don't know how some of you guys have the patience to read so many pony stories.

Well, I guarantee you some of these have been languishing on there since 2012.
