    a tribute a shoutout a question a plan

"Twilight?" Applejack eased her head through the doorway. Dulled clanks came from further inside, and much of the equipment crowding the room glowed with a dull purple sheen.

"Working!" called Twilight from the other side of the largest element.

    "Twilight, mail call!" insisted Applejack.

    Canonical Example

I have just tonight declared the season two time-travel episode "It's About Time" to be the canonical example of stable time loops involving sentient beings. Just wanted to share that.

Didn't even need to mention ponies to do it, oddly.

This is Not the "I'm Leaving" Blog Post · 1:38am Jul 21st, 2017

I've had a variation of this blog post kicking around in my head for a while now, but I'm finally getting around to writing and posting it.

I haven't been around the fandom for like ...two years? Yeah, thereabouts at least. I'm not "am leaving". I've been away for a while, and am just finally announcing that fact. There's a couple of you that ...not so much I miss, as I'm kicking myself for not keeping in better touch with, if that makes sense? (Hi Ghost, hi Causal.)

You can, of course and as always, reach me via email or PM. Observationally, I can't promise I'll get back to you in... any timeframe at all, actually, but it'll reach me.

I've also been hanging around spacebattles and sufficientvelocity lately, albeit under a different name. I suppose I should add those to my little list. I could bang up a rough description of how that came about if there's interest.

Oh! Also! If you hit the reply button on this comment[1], I should get an email as well. So y'know, there's options.

[1] or any of my comments, but this is where it's relevant.

Goodnight, sweet toafan, and flights of alicorns sing thee to thy... umh... absence?

You shall be missed and I'm curious to hear the story.

This is the sort of thing I'm talking about; I've been sorta-vaguely meaning to get back to these, but I walked away for long enough that the alerts evaporated on me. That's with me going lightweight.

"The story" being how I came to land on sufficientvelocity, yeah? (If not than I'm not sure what you're referring to.)

The earliest event I recall in that sequence is re-discovering Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality. I don't remember how that happened, but I have distinct recollection that I had discovered it previously and not kept up with it when I hit the end, so this was a re-discovery. I'm sure TVTropes was involved at least one of the times. Anyways, this re-discovery was before the final arc and the goofy pseudo-interactive thing the author did, and so lead me to the HPMoR subreddit. This was early 2015 at the latest, because I remember the next part happened during 2015.

I am always willing to look for more stuff to read (that's the nature of being toafan), and since that was where I was hanging out at the time this lead me to that community's general-purpose fiction subreddit. Somewhere in there I came across a reference to With This Ring, a Green Lantern X economic practicality X self-actualization fanfic thing that, at the time, was publishing on spacebattles. I liked it enough to keep reading it (the daily updates helped) and offer a few comments in that thread.

That brought me to spacebattles. Let's see. I don't remember exactly how I made the jump from spacebattles to sufficientvelocity, but it would have happened in 2016. I picked up a new fandom in early 2016, and the spacebattles+sufficientvelocity collective is sort of the hub of that fandom as I experience it. I'm more on sufficientvelocity these days, I think there were minor technical aspects that lead to me doing that.

Now to go add links.

So... after 6 years...

...what's Real Life like? I hear it's awful. :derpyderp2:
