    TwiDash stuff.

Hey everybody. A short notice, I'm currently working on a pretty simple TwiDash oneshot and wondered if anybody would be willing to do some editing for me?

    Thanks fore reading!

Wellbourne · 4:58am Sep 7th, 2014

Hey everybody, DeepShift here. So, I've been tossing around concepts for a story, and have written a bit of a draft, set out like a prologue. I figured I'd share it with y'all, see what ya think. Do note, there may be some tense issues, but I don't mind about that too much yet xD Anyway, here's what I've got:

Wellbourne was a dark place. Shadows covered almost every inch of the sprawling city, casting the residents into a perpetual state of pseudo-night. And it wasn’t just dark in the literal sense, it had a feeling of cold terror about it, as if one was being watched. Then again, if you lived in Wellbourne, you almost certainly were being watched.

Most people - if they could still be called that - would rather stick you with a knife than ask for a name. That was simply how things were. It was better to remove any potential threats before they could try something than give them a chance to stick you first.

It should be noted before we continue any further, that the citizens of Wellbourne aren’t exactly the kind of people one might expect to find in a civilised city. No these were cursed, lifeless, unnatural. These were undead. Not the rotting, shambling unintelligent creatures who appeared in stories meant to scare little children though, well not all of them anyway. These were true undead, humans who had lost the ability to die. Naturally at least. While difficult, it is still possible to destroy one of the cursed.

Of course, given the somewhat stressful predicament these undead found themselves in, many did succumb to the horrors of their existence, reduced to the shambling beasts of children’s stories. These poor souls had come to collectively be known as ‘Wraiths’ and had become the very real fate every undead strives to avoid.

It’s entirely possible to stave off this fate, at least for a short time, by simply having purpose, finding companionship, even eating food. Anything which could remind the undead in question that they were still human in some way. To lose one’s grasp on what makes them human, is to lose one’s self entirely.

The undead who still clasp their humanity make their homes closer to the centre of Wellbourne, creating a residential district which had come to be known as ‘the fifth ring’. Wellbourne was made up of many walls surrounding each sector, an expanding series of rings which went on for miles, the centre ring being where the bell tower stood. A tall, proud building, gothic arches and columns covering it’s sides. It was impossible to tell how tall the tower was, it looked as if it just kept going higher and higher. An imperious finger pointing towards sky.

Scattered across the city were many more towers, though none of these had bells. Most of them were homes for the Immortals, the undead who had been in the city since it’s founding. The final feature of Wellbourne which should be noted, is that it has no entrance. The only way in or out is through the airships which come in once a month to drop supplies and undead, before swiftly departing. It is on one of these Airships that our story can finally begin.

And there we have it folks! A semi-original concept which takes heavy inspiration from the Dark Souls series, will probably need some ironing out so I don't get sued or whatever. Anyway, more intresting blog post should be coming up soon, seeya later everybody! I'm gonna go to sleep, since it's about 6:00 AM where I am.

Ciao.

Hey everybody, DeepShift here.

Really? :pinkiegasp: I thought it was f**king Rainbow Bob! (:trollestia::derpytongue2:)

Wellbourne sounds like a real friendly place. :twilightoops: I GATTA GO THAR! :pinkiecrazy:

2434077 Maybe it was! :trollestia: Maybe this is secretly RainbowBob masquerading as DeepShift!

And hael yeah, it's a damn fine place to take the kids :rainbowkiss:

So, we have redefined undead, omnipresent doom'n'gloom, airships and a circular city with the bell tower in the middle. I'm sensing epic stuff occurring right next to the bell. :rainbowdetermined2:

2434332 Oh, you know it my friend :raritywink:

This looks exciting!

What genre are you aiming for? I think this could a be a legendary horror/dark fic if done correctly, and Deepshift always does it correctly.

2445430 xD Thanks buddy! That's pretty much waht I'm aiming for, a dark fantasy kinda thingy. Not sure how correctly I can pull it off though, gotta work a hell of a lot on the overarching plot, and fill in some of the holes I'm having difficulty with :twilightblush:

2446458 it helps if you read similar fics so you can get a good feel for how you should go with it. I hope this turns out awesome, I love these types of stories.

2448214 Funny you say that, because this particular story was inspired by what is (In my books) the greatest fanfiction EVER :rainbowlaugh:

2457508 which one? I feel like it's good if it's the greatest.

2462227 I hope this turns out well Church! (Lol, can't believe I remembered that name, been a while friend. Well, if you count like two months as "a while" but it's whateves.)

2463514 It really has xD I've missed you man. Any idea as to what I should blog about next? :rainbowwild:

2465185 I'm thinking you write down a long, heart felt blog about your feelings.

Lol just kidding. Just post a picture of a cute cat or something. Gets me every time.
