I helped a guy find his mother · 11:55pm Sep 2nd, 2014
Today, I met with a regular customer at the convenience store I used to work at. When I worked there, he would stop in and we would always talk about music from the 80's. He grew up listening to the stuff that I currently enjoy, and he offered me all of his old vinyl records.
So, happy to add to my collection, I followed him to his house and we started digging through his attic. After an hour, we finally found the old Heineken boxes he'd been keeping the records in. I started flipping through the records, already thrilled to see Scorpions and Styx singles in the box.
There was a lot of dust covering the records, and I mean A LOT. When I got to the bottom of the box, I noticed several broken pieces of pottery sitting in a large pile of dust. The guy picked up a shard of the pottery and looked at it before realizing what it was.
It was the urn his mother's ashes had been stored in.
oh
ASSHOLE TIME
I'll bet he wasn't asian.
Oh… Kay then.
Oh. Damn.
I was expecting a happier ending. D:
That's an urban legend quality tale right there. It's not really ironic, but damn, it's something, alright.

Yeah. Except this actually happened. To me. Today.

If you play these records and you hear an old woman's voice that's not supposed to be there, take those records to a priest immediately. (Oh, my. Is that a dark story idea I see? Hmm...)

That's why it's so surreal.
Well.
That was unexpected.
