Anyone here at least somewhat good with computers? · 5:09pm Aug 28th, 2014
I would like to say I am pretty tech savvy, but this is beyond me...
Ever since the whole Unturned situation, my laptop hasn't been the same. It's been moving a lot slower, videos aren't working, etc.
I'm not quite sure if the internet speed could also have a factor in this, because if it does, then that will really explain a lot...
But not only that, I have been getting a lot of lag and crashes while playing games that I would normally get nothing like that from.
Any ideas on how to fix these problems?
Have you tried turning it off and turning it back on?
2409105 I have, actually. It helped somewhat, but not much.

Any recent installations?
Have you de-fragmented your drives?
Do you use chrome?
Are there any programs running in the background?
This is pretty much only general stuff since I don't know your exact problem, but try updating flash, checking your download/upload speed, and keeping the amount of processes your comupter is running at once relatively low. Try cleaning your registry with Ccleaner, maybe reduce the amount of programs you have starting up when you login.
If you get something like rainmeter you can also know how much RAM you're using at once and how much stress is on your CPU in a convenient little corner of your screen.
If you don't have an Operating System that automatically defragments your hard drive then give that a try too.
Get Malwarebytes, adwcleaner, and spybot search and destroy too and run a few scans just to be safe.
And as far as I know, a bad internet connection should have no impact on the actual performance of your computer.

Get ripped off at a computer tech center.
Well, you could try restoring it to factory settings if it runs Windows 7, otherwise reinstall it and get AVG antivirus program.

Just Windows updates.
I have, and while it did help, it still didn't fix all the problems.
I do, yes.
Um, Sticky Notes, Toshiba Gadgets, and Skype.

Do you clear the chrome chache regularly?
You've asked the right person here. I'm actually a computer geek myself, mind if I try to help?
Install or update Adobe Reader.
The problems are almost certainly to do with the original issue. A computer that works perfectly until after a problem is usually still affected by some aspect or aspects of the original. In that case, I suggest testing every major function separately to find the affected area. How to do such a thing, I have no idea, as I've never had to deal with things like this before. If its happening during gaming, do consider that game updates often update things like graphics and sound. The game crashes may be something as simple as an outdated driver, though in these circumstances, I'm not overly confident. It may be that your computer can no longer process data fast enough, thus overloading and crashing the problem application. A burst of messages on Skype, for instance, could put too much pressure on your now-damaged computer's processor. It could, in theory, be that the power supply is failing and can't provide every component with the required power to function at its best. Who knows?
My best advice is to turn to a professional instead of the Internet, home of subjective opinions and general stupidity. A repairperson will
