    I'm back-ish?

    Um... hi.

Yeah, I came back after... well... a very long time off. Why? I had this writing itch and wanted to produce something new for this site. So, I returned to my form and wrote a little short story based upon the poem In Flanders Field. Please enjoy, and stay safe everyone!

Drip - A Mature (18+) Poem · 8:08am Aug 25th, 2014

DRIP

***

There once was a pony who lived alone in his house.
For no one would visit him, not even a single mouse.
But he had a companion with him, who was a dog,
That usually slept under his bed like a log.

However, since living alone can be very scary,
And even make the strongest of horses feel very wary,
The young stallion would every night,
Hang his hoof down from the bed, for the dog to lick in delight.

While he found that comfort in a “horse’s best friend,”
He suddenly heard a strange drip that didn’t seem to end.
As he got out of his bed to go and investigate the sound,
He found out it was coming from his bathroom, and that it was also very loud.

Stumbling for the light fixture, the pony flicked it with his wrist,
And very soon, he came face-to-face with,
A blood soaked room with his dog hung by the leach,
From a shower rack, exposed is its fresh meat.

Shocked by the sight as the blood dripped to the floor,
It made the same sound that terrified poor Moore.
But made him scream and run out of sight,
Was something else that made him fear for his life.

For it was written in the dog’s blood on the mirror,
A very special message from the lone serial killer.
