Absolutely. I love this video. My favorite part of Ditzy's fight scene is how she just zips around in the air in such a way that it seems completely random and impossible. If it were a pegasus martial art, it should be called the 'Derpy Hoof style'.

I'm going to watch the last 30 seconds of that, what I can only describe as pure, unadulterated AWESOMENESS, any time I'm trying to visualize Derpy in hoof-to-hoof combat in my own fic. That was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!

Ditzy is indeed quite awesome in this video--the pure look of MURDER she gives the changelings right before flaring her wings and assuming an offensive stance always gives me chills.

In addition to Ditzy, I also like how other Canterlot ponies are portrayed compared to their showing in "Canterlot Wedding, Part 2." Rather than just fleeing, screaming, or cowering in terror (which, admittedly, would be quite understandable), several ponies at the beginning of the video are shown actively fighting back. Spitfire and Soarin' are of course a given, and I could easily see Vinyl Scratch and Octavia joining the fray (particularly given the latter's penchant for badassedry in other videos), but seeing Fancy Pants launching magic bolts and Fleur Dis Lee parrying with a foil was a nice surprise, and well in-line with their fanon portrayals as being less "above-it-all."

And then there's Best Sister/Foalsitter/Older Mentor (depending on your headcanon), Sparkler/Amethyst Star.

I really dig how the animators chose to characterize Sparkler because it fits so well with my own view of her personality. She's not a fighter, but neither is she a coward. Her first priority is keeping Dinky safe, and to do that she has to get as far away from the changelings as possible, no matter what obstacle she may encounter. When something blocks her path, she doesn't panic; she just thinks of the most expeditious way to continue her retreat. And when she's finally cornered, defenseless, her first action is take Dinky and push her behind so that she can act as the final shield. She's not a Guardian, like Ditzy. She's a Protector, which is something completely different and will in no way at all be important as a plot point later in my story, Metamorphosis.
