Since I'm still dithering around with the next chapter, I wanted to offer something to the readers I've gained. Yes, still working on the story pretty much daily. Just having some trouble finding inspiration for the next chapter. Done several tweaks in the other chapters, which maybe it's time to run an upload cycle on, and added a pile more concepts and ideas for later in the story to my running list. Things are progressing, just not quite so visibly right now. I am hoping to finish the next chapter by the end of August. Depression can be a total drain. :(
I also decided to make the change official and let it be known the story will be broken up in multiple books, rather than some ludicrously extended epic thingamabob. How long each book will be is up in the air more than Rainbow Dash. The title of the first one, Pathfinding, will give allusion to what it's meaning to cover. The number of books depends on how things progress and how long I want to keep going. The big threat and cause of the looming war is unlikely to be referenced in book one. My initial impression for where I'm going puts me at three books though.
And suggestions are always welcome. I'm always open to ideas and already plan to incorporate nods to other fics or grow parts of my story from the seeds of ideas I've seen. One such thing is an inspiration I had from Children of the Night, a rather well done fanmade song and animation. Readers will just have to wait to know what it inspired for the story, although I will say it's something I'll mention in the coming royal summit meeting of Protecting Harmony.
In general, the entire story is forming as a whole in my mind. This is part of the reason chapters will sometimes take a while to complete. I have various things filling various points along the way. One way of looking at it is it's like downloading a torrent. You get bits and pieces all over the place until it's finally complete. I just can't post chapters randomly like that or I'd have so many continuity errors, it'd look like the federal government if they couldn't cover things up. o.O'
