Griffon research discoveries... · 7:41am Aug 13th, 2014
Well then, in my hopes of getting rid of writer's block and finding something else to do, I've been trying to research and do this Griffon story I've been wanting to do.
And well... I've come across some REALLY interesting discoveries.
Isidore of Seville- "The Gryphes are so called because they are winged quadrupeds. This kind of wild beast is found in the Hyperborean Mountains. In every part of their body they are lions, and in wings and heads are like eagles, and they are fierce enemies of horses. Moreover they tear men to pieces." (Brehaut, 1912)
fierce enemies of horses
>looks at website title
>based on show about ponies, which are a type of horse
>thinks
>Saddle Arabians appear even more horselike and have very little in the way of backstory, along with griffins
fierce enemies of horses
Pretty much all of my sources say the same thing. No wonder Gilda didn't fit so well in a pony town...
Fuck, this kind of shit gives me a whole new perspective about griffins in the show...
Also...
While the griffin is a mortal enemy of horses, its magic talons have detected poison and its feathers have cured blindness.
So... apparently griffin talons can detect poisons... I guess you're not going to poison a griffin then.
The feathers cure blindness, eh? Hm... then I guess there is no such thing as a blind griffin.
This is just some interesting information I've uncovered in my research, there's quite a bit more to be found as well.
Oh yeah, this is also meant to tell you that I'm working on the griffin story since I've got a fuckton of inspiration for it.
Mainly from Europe Universalis 4 and a new album from Two Steps From Hell.
I have two things to say, First, cool discovery and second, two steps from hell released a new album...
