Twilight's Library! · 4:18am Aug 11th, 2014
Howdy, readers!
Another of my stories was inducted into Twilight's Library! It's an old short, but it's one I spent a lot of time on. Especially the cover art. There were times I felt like I was working harder to draw the vector of Vinyl Scratch than I did to proof the text! Render Unto Them Wubs was also suggested as a potential Featured Story for the Twilight's Library group, which is very kind of them.
Little nods like this from the community make me want to get back into ponywriting, but I know I simply don't have the time right now. I would not be able to do justice to the concepts in my head. However, I take some small solace in the knowledge that what I've written continues to stand on its own and, in at least one case, is gathering accolades over a year after it has been published!
Even Bon Hadescream has multiple complete story arcs, and the current story arc's main "conflict" is partially resolved. I have the next few chapters all planned out in my head and outlined on my computer, but I simply don't have the time or ability to write and proof them like I did the older ones. With that said, Bon Hadescream is one story that I can justify letting rest for a while. After all, that is not dead which can eternal lie, and with strange aeons, even death may die. Furthermore, it has not gained the attention that some of my other stories have, which means that I'm mostly writing it for myself. The fans who do read it are very enthusiastic though, and I appreciate all of y'all! I do one day hope to "complete" that adventure of Vinyl and Octavia. After all, nobody else is gonna write a story about a ghoul-cellist fighting a musical duel with a daemon-dragon...
Dragon crawled up to Equestria, he was lookin' for a soul to steal.
He was in a bind, 'cause he was way behind, and he was willin' to make a deal.
When he came across this young mare skilled with a fiddle and a deadeye with a shot.
She jumped right into his summoning circle and said, "boy, let me tell you what."
"I guess you didn't know it, but the Organization has fiddle players too.
And if you'd care to take a dare, I'll make a bet with you.
Now, you play a pretty good fiddle, dragon, but give we mortals our due,
I'll bet a vampire-touched soul against your summoning anchor, 'cause I'm sworn to stop monsters like you."
If that little "poem" sounded odd, look up "Devil Went Down to Georgia" by the Charlie Daniels Band.
That's all for this weekly update, folks.
