The Road Map for D&D Ponies · 9:13pm Oct 4th, 2011
Judging by the sudden increase in trackers, some of you are looking forward to D&D Ponies: Part 3, huh? I guess I'll give you all the plan, so you know what to expect.
Part 3 is going to continue in the vein that part 2 started, with a series of vignettes covering games run by several different DMs. Unlike part 2, however, they are going to be much longer and more involved. The acts in part one were meant only to give an impression of each character's DM style while advancing the overarching plot that linked them. This time around, I wanted the individual acts to be more fleshed out and closer to complete, stand-alone stories. So, there's only going to be four acts total, but each one will be much longer than any individual act from part 2, and hopefully more satisfying as a result.
Unfortunately, this means it will take me a longer amount of time to complete them. Back in March, I was able to crank out each act of part 2 in less than a week, but most of that was done during spring break. Right now, I'm taking fifteen college credits and working on the weekends, so I don't have the free time to write that I used to. So, depending on my class/workload, I might end up keeping you guys in suspense for a while. I know I'm a slow-ass writer, and I apologize for that fact. I'll try to come up with some interesting(ish) blog posts to keep you entertained in the intervening time.
The good news is that I've already got a good start on act 1, and the basic outlines and key plot points of all the rest of the acts worked out. If all goes well, I should be able to finish an act every two or three weeks (keep in mind this is a VERY rough estimate).
Beyond that, I also have plans for a part 4. It's still a little nebulous in my head, but it'll probably be a bit... different. It'll either end up being the most awesomely epic thing I've ever written, or a huge miscalculation that will make you all hate me forever. Or something in between, I don't know. You'll just have to wait and see.
Well, that's all for now. I literally have to leave for class right this second. Keep rollin' 20's, my friends. (God, that was cheesy.)
