Worst and Most Offensive Video Game of the Day: BOMB GAZA, for Google Play. And yes, I kid you not; this is a real video game. In it, you have to drop bombs whilst avoiding civilians in a Gaza Strip simulation. The villains are Black-robe clad Hamas figures. Civilians are women in berkas carrying little brown-skinned children. As Button Mash wrote the other day,

Those who actually have read recent news know that Gaza is now facing the highest order of an humanitarian crisis. Not even Nintendo would have approved of the release this game, because of how disrespectful, mean-spirited, and offensive it is to the nearly 2K people killed so far in Israel’s Operation Protective Edge.

Most Impressive Feats for a Comedy Album of the Day: Over the weekend, parodist "Weird Al" Yankovic's Mandatory Fun (2014; USA; RCA; 88843-09375-2;) became the first comedy LP to top the LP charts in 51 years; comedian and provider of Jewish religion commentary Allan Sherman's My Son, The Nut (1963; USA; Warner Bros.; W/WS 1501) was the previous comedy LP to top the format's charts. After selling 104K copies during the sales week of 20 July, Mandatory Fun also achieved the largest and fastest selling sales week for a comedy LP since The Beavis And Butt-Head Experience (11/03/1993; USA; Geffen; GEFD-24613).

Most Disturbing Event of the Day: PETA has opposed Arizona's plan to sterilize feral or stray cats; preferring instead to send those cats to their deathbeds. Fluttershy, Equestrian veterinarian, MOR-pop recording artist, and Current Element of Kindness was quoted as saying:

Activities like this one are nothing new for the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. They have always been known for their contrarily non-ethical treatment of animals, which ranges from animal insensitivity (comparing the egg industry to the Holocaust) to frightening (an estimated 85% of all animals are said to have been euthanized by PETA), to absurd (marketing its messages to, of all people, CHILDREN) to outright cruel (preferring death over sterilization of wild cats, such as those in Arizona). I'm glad we have nothing of their like here.

"On Second Thought..." Moment of the Day: This moment was brought to you by United States of America Representative Steve King (R-IA), who, over the weekend, on Farce News Sunday, told President Obama not to do anything that would cause impeachment. Um...maybe Mr. King should Just Say No to impeaching the President, OK?

"Something Better Came Along" Moment of the Day (from Jim Metrock of Obligation Inc.):

Shelby Holliday wised up and left Channel One News for a job at Bloomberg TV. Former Channel One executive producer Jim Morris works at Bloomberg and probably had a hand in connecting with Ms. Holliday.

Although Ms. Holliday helped commercially exploit millions of schoolchildren since 2010, and she should rightfully feel awful about her years at this youth marketing firm, we wish her well now that she is in legitimate news. No more guaranteed audience no matter how poorly one performs before a camera. Ms. Holliday will have to earn her audience and will constantly seek ways to improve herself. That’s the real world. Her career can only progress with her departure from Channel One.

That's all the time I have for today. :*(
I'll be back tomorrow! =D
