New name, same geeky brony · 3:01am Aug 2nd, 2014
So I've been thinking, when the database gives you a name your mind came up with late at night, don't make lemonade, make the database take the name back! Get mad! I don't want that damn name, what the hell am I supposed to do with that? Demand to see the database's manager. Make the database rue the day it thought it could give you a crappy name! Do you know who I am?! I'm the man that's gonna burn your server down, with the name! I'm going to use my programming skills to invent the combustible name that burns the database down!
Clearly I have played Cave Johnson's speech too many times, but I needed something to fill in the space in this blog post, a type of post I am not well accustomed to writing to begin with (for verification, see previous blog posts. Oh wait!). Long story short, I decided to change my screen name to match that of my OC that I am making and wanted to make sure no one else took this name, and then decided I should make a blog post explaining it to anyone that happens to visit my user page.
I realize in hindsight how stupid this post was in theory. Critically, it assumed:
A. That anyone would visit my user page, and
B. That there would be confusion about changing from a username that doesn't even appear anywhere after the change because the website was programmed better than that.
