My first sonnet, and first pony-centric poem. Inspired by the "Ode to Best Pony" EQD summer achievement and of course the popular pony that is the subject.
Ode to Derpy: A Sonnet of Fandom.
Oh pegasus mare with coat of light sapphire bluish gray
And mane of pale light grayish apple green,
When you make your appearance in the background, we all go "yay!"
To your creator, your popularity was quite unforeseen.
Your distinguishing feature your funny crossed eyes
And your cutie mark, a group of bubbles
When you were finally given lines it was such a surprise
Then unfortunately, so were the troubles.
Whatever was said, we like you for who you are
It would be more ableist to change you.
Whenever you're in the foreground you become the star
Our delivery mare, Derpy Hooves or Doo.
Thus concludes this ode to the best of background ponies
We look forward to more of you, all of us bronies.
And here's a haiku about her.
Cross-eyed Derpy Hooves
First you spoke, then were mute.
The bronies all raged.
You forgot the second "you" between "then" and "were".
