Ever since I started this fic I've always wanted to figure out ways to improve upon it, one major one being the current cover art I placed for it.
I figure not using original art of my own (mainly cause I can't draw good in my opinion) and finding a landscape online makes it seem less professional and kinda advertises it as amateurish to any new readers, constantly making me paranoid that it would be the reason people may not bother giving it a chance...
and part of me doesn't blame them, the cover art needs to be eye catching and original to draw the reader in, and the way it is now, doesn't fit that criteria in my opinion.
Problem is, I see many great fics having original, photoshopped art to advertise themselves, and I would like to do that, that would be if I had any clue into how to even begin at something like that?
Not only that, but every time I consider this, I usually have dumb questions pop into my head such as "Will I be liable to copyright if I edit upon existing images? (I assume that it is how these are created)", or "I know there are people you can get to do this for you, but do I have to pay them? or do they do it for free? Would I be placing myself in some kind of partnership I'm not comfortable with?"
(did I mention I was paranoid?)
To anyone reading this, can you offer any advice please, or if you have any answers to my paranoid questions, anything would be appreciated.
(also, 100% shot in the dark, might as well ask, if any of the small amount of readers I have happen to unlikely be one of those awesome artists, feel free to pm me if you are interested. I know the chances of that are slim to nil, but better than not asking I guess, it was worth a shot right?)
