She Loves Me Not: Chapter 2 Info · 11:09am Jul 25th, 2014
Hey, it's me again. Eyvind, that is. Just posting a friendly little blog post to give you all some insight into my writing process. In other words, this is for any people/ponies who buy DVDs for the special features. So, let's get baking.
Now the first thing I want to address this chapter is the length. Yes, I know it's fewer than a thousand words. Yes, I know that may/will disappoint some people. But honestly, I ended the chapter when the chapter was over. No need to write what isn't needed. You know, if that makes any sense.
Next thing to discuss is how long it took me to write the bugger. I'm gonna be straight with all of you. I wasn't typing non-stop for a month straight. The reason it took me so long to write this was because of pure and simple lack of inspiration. When there isn't a driving force behind my fingers, they'll just refuse to move. I should also note that I edit my own writing. But I'm kind of strange, so I don't write the whole thing out before I edit. I edit every single one of my sentences individually. So, for instance, I'll write one sentence, and then I'll reread that sentence to make sure it sounds right. If it doesn't (or sometimes even if it does), then I'll replace a word with another, or move the subject around. I do this upwards of thirty times for every single sentence of every single story. And then, at the end, when I have the whole chapter written, I will then go back and read it start to finish about ten times until I'm sure that every single word is the word I want. Then, and only then, do I hit the submit button (unless I'm not paying attention and I accidentally hit the submit button when I want to hit the save button. Seriously, they should make them different colors or something.) Needless to say, It takes me a long time to write chapters. Unless I'm super inspired, then it takes me less than a day, but that's pretty rare.
Any~who, the last thing I wanted to talk about with all of you was my decision to take the story in a more serious direction than the quirky-stalker-thing that some of you suggested when I asked for help with my writer's block. I felt that it would be a more interesting story to see how her obsession would affect her life, such as her friendship with Lily. But I also want to assure you that this is still a romance story at its heart, so Twilight and Daisy will be seeing more of each other soon enough. Whether Twilight wants to or not, hehe.
Alright, I think t-t-t-t-that's all for now, folks.
OH! By the way, I don't know if any of you heard, but Pen Stroke just released a blog post this past week saying that first edition hard-cover copies of Past Sins were available on ebay. I'm happy to say I got my copy before they sold out! I got it in the mail yesterday, and it is B-E-A-Utiful. It cost me a couple of limbs, but it was soooooooo worth it! They're seeing if they're going to be making a second printing, so if you want this book, go over to Pen Stroke's page and see what you can do to help them out. Because we all need a little more Nyx in our lives! /)*3*(\
Don't know if I was of any help but glad to see that you are still going at it!
Story of my life, dude. Thanks for the heads up
