What I'm trying to say is, I'm branching out of Fimfiction. Now, before you get your pants in a twist, I don't mean that I'm leaving. I'm just looking at other websites to try out for writing also.
So far I've already subscribed to protagonize.com (my page can be found here) which is a free writing forum that has opportunities for both fan fiction and original fiction. That novel I posted in blog posts here is also on that site.
In addition, I've also heard about this swinging place called fanfiction.net. Now, this place from what I've heard is some of the most annoying fans writing the worst fan fiction in the world, so I'm a bit hesitant to go there, but I am considering it. There's a fic I've been chomping at the bit to write for another fandom- the only other fandom I'd consider writing fan fiction for- and, of course, can't post it here.
Finally, while this last one is a bit less feasible than the other two and would take more work to maintain, I've been thinking about starting up my own YouTube channel for analysis, discussion, and lecture on... Well, basically whatever I feel like, but mostly fandom news, reviews of episodes and fan content, and analyses of fanon and canon.
So, what do you guys suggest? Do you like these ideas? Hate them? Have any suggestions of other venues to look for? Leave a comment and let's discuss some stuff.
Branching out is a good idea, getting more recognition might lead you to get famous one day. If I branched out, I would choose DeviantART to post my other type of fanfiction because there are lots of people who use it for art, stories, and information. Still it is good to use different sites.
A youtube channel discussing lots of different things about the show would instantly be a hit! There's not that many of them, and the different ways people analyze them is fun to watch! All of these are great ideas.
I'd subscribe, follow, and watch all of the mentioned place. Excluding fanfiction.net. There was only one place on there I stayed. And I will probably never go back there, even if you went to that specific place that I still miss.
Anyways, I would support you wherever you decide going.
Also, if you start making youtube vids, we might end up working together there...

Thanks for the lead on Deviant Art. I wasn't sure if not being a visual artist (I'm terrible at drawing or painting) would put me at a disadvantage to the other artists.
You're spot on with youtube. Other than the shmexy fic writers on this site, some of my favorite members of the community are reviewers and analysts like Tommy Oliver and Antony C.

I did check out fanfiction.net. IT's alright. The MLP section is bloated with too many subpar fics, but I was mainly looking for another fandom there anyways.
As for youtube, it could be a while, but once I get it up and running I'll let you know. I'd definitely be willing to collab.

I'm not that good of an artist either but I plan on writing at least one or two fics on there that aren't pony related. (I mean honestly, look at my profile pic)
Nah, on deviantart you can post stories or art, as long as they're good you'll get recognition.
I barely look at analyzations anymore there, but I do remember it's fun to listen and watch. So I'm all for it, go do what you gotta do!

Take your time with it! I've wanted to do youtube stuff for what 5 years now, and I just managed to get most the hardware I needed. Honestly, I still haven't made anything solo, only worked with others at this point.
