I was due to post that story today. Unfortunately, I decided to go through five drafts over the weekend, only finally deciding on one yesterday evening. After writing 2500 words, I've realized that I actually want to publish the second chapter at the same time as the first, as opposed to one day afterwards, as I originally planned. This is mainly because I feel that when a story is posted, it should fulfill the promises that is made in the description.
Wait, what? I haven't shown you the description? Well allow me to explain myself!
Faking It is a SpikeDash story that I conceived with another author about a year ago. A few months into the project, we both stopped working on it, and I didn't really give it another thought until recently. I had a sudden surge of inspiration, and went ahead and planned the whole thing scene by scene. I then got the art commissioned by the lovely Frist, who's probably going to end up doing a lot of my Cover Arts at this rate, given the sheer quantity of suggestions I've offered him. 
The description is as follows:
Out of all the crazy plans that Rainbow Dash has ever come up with, this is probably by far one of the dumbest and perhaps the most brilliant yet. When Thunderlane and Rarity confess they're in a relationship, a heartbroken Spike and Dash hatch the perfect plan to break the couple up: pretend they're dating to make Rarity and Thunderlane jealous.
Dumb, right? Brilliant? Eh, maybe not so much. However, as the game draws on and their friends become increasingly suspicious, Rainbow Dash and Spike must ask themselves just how far they're willing to go to keep the ruse going…
So if you haven't guessed, this one's a bit of a silly idea, but I hope to be able to take on a few serious themes towards the end. I did consider including a few more serious elements, but I want the general tone of the story to be lighthearted and somewhat exaggerated. I mean, the whole idea of Spike and RD pretending they're dating to make Rarity and Thunderlane jealous is totally illogical, but that's really where the fun begins for me.
I decided to take on a full romance comedy. I predict this to be around 30'000 words long, 10-12 chapters of ~3k words each. I'm really excited to be able to publish this as I've put a lot of effort into in the year since it was forged in my head. With this in mind, I'd also like to thank the author PrincessSparklesX for helping with it in the early stages. I don't really know what's happened to her. She appears not to have written in a long time. Nonetheless, if you could just give her profile a peek, that'd be awesome!
Either way, I hope you guys enjoy what will hopefully be no more than five drafts before Faking It is completed this week. As a way of an apology for not publishing it today like I intended, I went ahead and published the SpikeDash Prompt Tag Collab. Even if that's hardly my own work…
