Equestrian Poems-The Princess Within · 6:50pm Jun 6th, 2014
The following poem was found in the castle of the two sisters. It's author is unknown, although due to the subject matter we can date it back to about 700 years ago. During the Lunar Republic's early years they worshiped 'The Mare on the Moon' as their deity. Early mythos claim that the mare (who we now know as Princess Luna) would guard the ponies of the republic, protecting their homes, families and most importantly their dreams.
So now everypony enjoy,
The Princess Within.
Foal hear the tale
Of the mare on the moon
The beautiful princess
Who sings a sad tune
She sits by herself
And she plans her route home
With lonely tears shed
As she cries all alone
One day she’ll return
Swaddled in the moons light
And then she will bless us
With the beauty of night
So when you see the moon
Look up with a grin
And have a nice chat
With the princess within
