it's strange, I got through the description and introducing the two, but now, just as Rarity is supposed to make the first strike, I can't bring myself to write it... It could be because there are many other stories to read that I really want to read, but still... I'll probably finish it sone time tonight. I'm just glad. Well, I know you're wondering with baited breath what this one's going to be, and here it is: I wasn't finished with" My Little Dashie" yet! There were so many fans that cried and complained about the ending to MLD (myself included), that I decided that, for the next day, I'd search for a worthy successor, and after having read through eight separate possibles, I finally happened upon the one, the only fic I felt to be a worthy successor to this masterpiece, called "My Little Dashie: A Sequel" by ty500600, appropriately.
This story... I don't know how he did it, and I don't know where he got his inspiration, but this fic sounds like Rob picked up right where he left off and finished it with yet another tearful ending that had me stop reading to absorb all that was happening. The emotions were still raw by the time I had gotten to this fic, which was actually at the bottom of my to read list for the possible ones, and reading it, the suspense that was built was absolutely biblical, on par with any novel, and worthy of an entire review by me and my highest praise. Working off of someone else's work is hard, I ought to know, the fic I'm working on being a Conversion Bureau fic, and one thing I won't even attempt is to maintain the tone of the original in a half-baked attempt at sequelage, but somehow he manages it and keeps the characters developed and the emotions familiar. I'm not going to tell you how it adds on to the original, though I'm sure you can guess, and provides a beautiful story on par with the original master. I take my hat off to you, sir, and am humbled.
Next is something a little different, but similar. A Conversion Bureau fic double bill. Namely, those by Minalkra, a favorite of mine. The short one off is titled "What Would Really Happen" and then "The Conversion Bureau: Why?" I hope you'll keep reading and follow story as I read through the best FIMfiction has to offer!
