    Helloooo!!

Hi everyone! I know it's been such a long, long time, but I'll have you know that I still pop in sometimes! I just haven't been productive. XP If you follow me on any of my social media (I started Twitter last year, too!), yeah... It's weird as hell.

    Hello everyone! Also story update!

Hi everybody! I wanted to first say how sorry I am for having pretty much disappeared for the past several months. There really is no excuse for that at all. The last thing I want to do is disappoint all of you. So, I'm very, very sorry. I'm thankful for all of you that have stuck around! I hope that 2017 will be a much better year!

    Patreon?

Hello everyone! How's it going? :pinkiehappy:

I’ve considered it quite a bit, but I’ve been unsure about the idea. Not because I don’t have a huge following, I would not expect to get a lot! I’m more than fine with just making some loose change. X3

    The Mane Attraction Review

I know pretty much everyone else is doing this, but I'll go ahead and do it too. XP Because I'm a sheep! Anyway, so this episode was indeed Amy Keating Rogers' final episode of MLP. She's since gotten work at Disney, which is pretty awesome for her. It's pretty sad knowing she's no longer writing for MLP, she's been on staff ever since season one! She even wrote The Journal of the Two Sisters!

    The Hooffields and McColts Review

So it looks like we have the fourth use of the Cutie Map in play today! On top of that, it's Fluttershy and Twilight who are to take care of this friendship problem! And it's a shout-out to not only real-life history based on a feud that lasted over twenty years, but also to movies of a similar theme. Interesting!

Top Songs · 11:17pm May 30th, 2012

Since Souldin did the same thing with their blog, I shall now list off my top songs!

I won't lie, making top ten lists does not come easy for me. XD Making the top ten episodes was hard enough, and now there's this! But I'll try, I suppose! I'll just list off some songs I like and talk about them. :D

~Art of the Dress from "Suited For Success". This is, by far, Rarity's signature song. I am not a fashionista by any means, and I don't even LIKE it. However, as I said before, Rarity's character really surprised me a lot. This song is all in her passion of making clothes and thinking of her friends' unique personalities and what would work in terms of their dresses for the GGG. And really, they are beautiful dresses that reflect their cutie marks or something relevant to their interests! The reprised version is also very nice, reflecting on Rarity's despair in trying to please her friends, but truly does want to make them happy, even if their decisions go against any kind of conventional means. Kazumi Evans, who sings for Rarity, provides a very solid performance throughout both songs very nicely.

~Hush Now Lullaby from "Stare Master". Both versions. XD Fluttershy sings it as a sweet, soothing lullaby, that also seems to be reminiscent of something out of Mary Poppins. But then, Sweetie Belle takes over and turns it into a very loud and energetic GOSPEL! It's hilarious! Not to mention so neat considering that Michelle Creber is a child!

~Evil Enchantress Song from "Bridle Gossip". Pinkie Pie's version is silly and quick, but then I just LOVE Flutterguy's version. XD It's Jazzy, complete with finger snapping in the background, and the way Blu Mankuma sings it in such a bored, deadpan voice is HILARIOUS! Especially with Flutterguy's bored/annoyed expression just about mirroring it. Then with Pinkie Pie pantomiming lyrics just adds to the funny. XD I love it!

~At the Gala from "The Best Night Ever". Not only is it a love letter to the musical Into The Woods, it plays up to the song "Ever After" from the said musical. (I've yet to see it, but I wanted to mention it!) It mirrors it in how the characters sing about having the best night ever, only for things to later take a disastrous turn. The Mane 6 all get a chance to sing in it, including Applejack and Rainbow Dash, who had previously been unfortunate not to have sung before. It's a great song! Honourable mention of course goes to Pinkie Pie's "Pony Pokey"! :D

~Find A Pet Song from "May The Best Pet Win". When I first heard this song (and saw the episode), I hadn't been a FlutterDash shipper, but I did still enjoy the song! And I still do! So, as I came to say back in the analysis entries of my blogs about the pair (and also some theories from a couple fellow shippers), May The Best Pet Win became something of what came to really showcase Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy's friendship. This song only does it so. Not only does Rainbow Dash finally get her own song, but it's also shared with Fluttershy! And it's perfectly appropriate, that her first song is shared with her closest friend. Awww! Both Ashleigh Ball and Andrea Libman provide great performances to the catchy lyrics, the music is great, and the visuals are fun. Especially with RD and Fluttershy making A LOT of physical contact. XD

Hey, Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy singing together! As a shipper, I approve! Had the same kind of reaction to another pair I ship singing together in a video game...hee!

~Cutie Mark Crusaders Song from "The Showstoppers". As music writer and composer of the show Daniel Ingram says, this song is a cheesy 80's song with out of tune soloists. And it is! That's why it so bad! But it's so fun! Of course, it's intended that way, to be so bad but you love it anyway because of how hilariously fun it is. Of course, Scootaloo isn't a bad singer, she's just off key. Despite it all, it did still have a lot of heart and effort, so you really do have to give it that, too. A very fun song, and I enjoyed the performances!

~Smile Song from "A Friend In Deed". Like with Rarity's song being "Art of the Dress", the Smile Song is by far Pinkie Pie's song. It tells all about how she loves to make everypony smile and brighten up their days. She even touches on how there are tough days, but if you just keep your head high, you can find happiness all over again and smile. Shannon Chan-Kent, who provides most of Pinkie Pie's singing, did a wonderful job as always. If there's anyone who can sing as Pinkie Pie, it's her. Sure, Andrea Libman on occasion does just fine, but I really do like how Shannon Chan-Kent really captures the essence of Pinkie's personality within her singing, and her cutesy voice is PERFECT and almost sounds exactly like her speaking voice. (Yes, at times I hear Misa in there...but that's okay. XD I laugh at it.) It's a very fun and uplifting song which really speaks to how Pinkie Pie enjoys making everypony smile, just showcasing how she really cares for the happiness of others. How can you not smile with her around?

~This Day Aria from "A Canterlot Wedding Part 2". I've been listening to this song a lot lately (especially in since I wrote a rendition and drew out a montage to it...hee!), and it's wonderful. Not only is it vastly inspired by Disney's "The Little Mermaid", with the evil enchantress disguised as the bride and singing to a mirror about her evil plans, like Ursula the Sea Witch had done, but it's also a shout out to the Disney Renaissance! There are inspiration bits coming from, again, out of The Little Mermaid, Hellfire from The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Savages from Pocahontas, and even a dash of something out of Aladdin! That's all part of why I just love the song, it's got that air of nostalgia and a love letter to the days of the Disney Renaissance! Britt McKillip manages to very nicely sing from sounding evil all the way to distraught and tired very nicely in both forms of Cadance. In all, it's a great song and made for a wonderful addition to the show, especially to such a great finale!

And finally, a little special mention goes to "So Many Wonders" from "The Cutie Mark Chronicles". It may be short, desiring a longer song for Fluttershy, especially since it's in flashback, but it's a sweet little song about discovering a whole new place, especially from the eyes of a child.

....Plus it takes me back to "What's This?", considering the elements are similar. XD

Oh yes, and for something silly, the Piggy Dance from "Baby Cakes". Because it's such a silly song, and I love Pinkie Pie going "Oink oink oink"! It's so catchy and silly! XD

So that's about it! :D

Good pics! I wish "So Many Wonders" was higher, I can't express how much I love that song. :rainbowkiss:

Love "At the Gala" and "Winter Wrap Up". Personally, (and no, I don't think this is due to nostalgia) If feel like in general season 1's songs were more enjoyable, since in season 2 they tend to focus on one or two characters. I like the big, sing-along with your favorite pony songs. Season 2 lacked that, which makes me sad. Of course, nopony get me wrong, I love season 2. I just prefer the style season 1 has better.

Also, there's some mandatory Octavia Scratch posting, because music.

Apparently, FAUST. Never got to do that. Well, actually maybe once. At any rate, yay me! Success! :yay:

XD LOL! I love Octavia and Vinyl Scratch, they're so cool. :pinkiehappy:

And no worry, neither song is higher or lower. XD I just made a random list, so they're in no order of what I love! :D

I do see what you mean though, since it's either Pinkie's Pie songs, or a group song for the most part in season 1. But I still love the songs featured even in season two. :3

144216 Definitely! I love "Find A Pet" and the Flim Flam brothers' song (is there an official name?) to death. "This Day Aria" overshadowed them, but "BBBFF" and "Love Is in Bloom" are great as well.

144231
You got it right! XD It is "The Flim Flam Brothers"! And I agree, BBBFF and Love Is In Bloom are good too!
