Lastly, the Rainbow Power design is still stupid as hell. I thought maybe it'd look better in the show or something but nope, stupid as hell. But oh well. Basically everything else was awesome

I am standing firm on my thoughts about the
tacked-on, shallowishnature of the Fluttercord friendship. But Discord is still awesome, and Twi was awesomw to him.Top notch finale, and I totally called who would give Twi her key.
Since they probably had to put the Rainbow magic in the show, at leasttheymade it memorably cool.

Though I admit, I was all flailing about every possible Discolight interaction as well, it was just the ending Dislestia that stood out the most, coz like, it was actually the most ship-ish thing and still my main ship too. But oh my, so much shipping in any case 
And yeah, Fluttercord friendshipping in the show is pretty shallow. But I take what I can get and fill the gaps with my headcanon. I mean, it is getting better with every episode it's mentioned in anyway. It's just that it was introduced poorly and that makes the whole thing a little... off. But with the dropped hints it's easy to imagine an actual friendship being built off-screen. ...would help if it was on-screen though instead of just them talking about what they're doing when we're not able to stalk them
Also, I was actually thinking that exact outcome too
The moment I found out that Discord is in the finale, I was certain he'd be the one to provide Twi's key. I mean, we had the episode where he was kinda trying to see whether or not he had a friendship with Twi and the whole season has been all about giving us hints about things. So the logical conclusion was that since we've been shown that Discolight friendshipping is a thing in Discord's mind, then it's probably gonna play an important role later. And it did!
