I Need Names!

So, let's say Magalor didn't give his name to the Mane 6. Based on what he looks like now in the story, what do you think they might name him if they just thought he was a pet or animal?

Well, I think shade sounds cool while Goo sounds like something Pinkie would come up with and fit in.
So I'll go with Goo.

Goo wouldn't fit. He's no longer gooey. Yami wouldn't fit quite right unless Magalor himself said the name ("Yami" being a reference to anything evil or dark in nature, therefore the ponies wouldn't refer to him as that). I would say "Vigil" would be a good name to be pegged on him (according to Google Translate, it's Latin for "Watcher", making it a good name because all that he has been seen to do is watch what's happening with his external eyes, plus it would be a unknowing reference to his internal eye). Or perhaps Yin (the Black half of the Yin-Yang, plus, his white eyes in the middle of the black body makes the similarity more pronounced. In addition, the whole "pegging him as evil" thing is less pronounced, seeing as the Yin-Yang representing opposites in general, not just good vs evil)

My thought for Yami was to suggest the name in one of their minds. However, the use of Vigil is a good suggestion. Yin might also make sense. What do you think?
