Just your average british lad. I write things for a living. It’s the strangest living you’ll ever find, second only to my inability to take myself off of the grid.

Shadow Reviews, Episode 11: Inspiration Manisfestation · 3:21pm Apr 26th, 2014

Well, this is uummm... I, uuhhhhh. I have no words for this.

Other than Rarity is best drama queen!!!

First thing I want to address is the book itself; Where did it come from?, Why was it locked away?, And why was it enchanted with Dark Magic in the first place? 3 questions I expected answers to today. But since it didn't come, we at least have Rarity going psycho, and she plays it well so, that makes this episode a little better than usual. I want to say it was better than Breezies, but I still think those things are adorable.

We then see Rarity going utter psycho with her new powers, not only taking a page from the Power Ponies episode, but at the same time letting her own selfish desires of creativity get in the way of her regular state.. She not only makes things Swagadelic, but she gave the word "Swagadelic" A darker turn. Thus altering her good generous nature on a drastic scale. I mean come on!!! She can make Octavia out of a Mariachi for crap's sake! There was also a generic reference to The Wizard Of Oz and I'll give a cookie for every comment that mentions it.

Finally, I wanted to talk about Spike, with one last Spike episode coming up this season, he's really starting to bulk up and try to be the more mature side character, but he lets that get jeopardized by the fact that he thinks he was gonna lose Rarity if he didn't tell her. Not only that, but Owlowiscious was being no help, pressurizing Spike into finally spilling the beans and telling her the truth. He should have seen straight off the bat that the other ponies didn't like Rarity's designs and he should have told her straight away. But then again, that would have spoiled the 22 minute storyline, now wouldn't it?

Inspiration Manifestation is definitely one of the more stranger episodes from the series so far. It takes the generous side and makes it evil for once. Not only that but it's the fact that Rarity just had to read the book to absorb its' powers instead of keeping it close to her. The storyline is the classic pressurized "Buried Truth" plotline, the exact same as the 3rd act of Leap Of Faith. But it's a lot more humourous than last time, I wonder why? Finally, the overall episode itself was good, if not classic. It's another grand performance from Rarity as we dive into the last two episodes of Season 4. Spike was a little off this episode but luckily that will change next week.

But that book, Inspiration Manifestation, sure has some powerful Dark Magic at work. But if I could get my hands on that book...

..I could get every games console ever created. I NEED THAT BOOK!!!!!!!!!!

Final Score: 8/10
Good show, Rarity. Jolly good show.

NEXT WEEK'S REVIEW: Equestria Games
We've had 2 Episodes that built up to this. They'd better F**king pay off!!!
