Should I make an OC focused story on here? · 5:16pm Apr 14th, 2014
WARNING: Incoming long wall of text. You have been warned.
Let me just bring up some things that led me to this question. I'm a hobbyist type of artist that hasn't really done much art as of late, due to focusing on college, and going through some personal drama that leaves me almost completely unmotivated to do anything creative as of late.
Back when I DID do some art, I was trying to flesh out my two main anthro pony OCs through a tumblr ask blog, answering questions to their followers about their interests, life experiences, and such. Sometime afterward, I've been wanting to turn their ask blog into a web comic like blog where I show their adventures, sexually implied antics, almost in an ecchi, action, romance, genre manga type, and sometimes get into the darker side where violence, blood, and depressing moments come into play. And of course some slice of life. They make some interactions with the mane 6 and some other characters from the show, that almost goes in line with the canon of the series, that plays some part to my main 2 OCs' story and background. My 2 main OCs also meet with some old friends they've come across, making new ones, and of course running into some of the more villainous, possibly psychotic ponies whom the 2 can only get physical in order to come out of the situation alive.
Or course, making a web comic like this would take time to plan the plot, sketch the story boards, and all of that artsy stuff that I just can't make do with because of life. I may get into it someday, but now's just not the good time. Also, I realized the story I had planned have some big holes that I was hoping to get to throughout the story, but god knows how long that would take.
So, here's where my idea of making a story here comes in. The reason I want to make a transition from visual art to written art is because I can type much faster than I draw. I'm not saying that I think it will be easier than drawing, but I think it's more... Convenient to put what I think into words than mentally planning what I want to draw into one page. I have to admit, I have little to no experience in making stories on the canvas of writing, but at the same time, it will also help me learn how to make stories, and presenting them in the right execution, to the point I can hopefully apply them to making web comics in the future once I'm done with college and move into a more comfortable environment than where I'm currently residing. As for the story itself, again, it will be mainly focused on my 2 OCs. How they're presented will be different than what I had originally planned, but hopefully I'll still be able to put some of my original ideas into this new framework. I just see a lot of potential for the story I want to make with these 2 OCs, and I want to show what I come up with for the fun of it. Like how I enjoyed posting my artworks in the past, and learn from my mistakes as I improve in more works. Plus, I feel finally getting my creative gears working again may help me with my mood a little, and give me something to put effort into maintaining while I have college and work going.
But what do you guys think? Would this be a good idea for me to write? Are OC centered stories well liked in fimfiction? Opinions on what you think would be the best course of action for me to take?
Thank you for those who have read this far into this thread, and I appreciate your time in reading and answering my concerns. For those who are interested in who my 2 OCs are, what they sort of look like, and want to look at my poor attempt in their character development, here's a link to their Tumblr Ask Blog
Thank you for your time, and I look forward to hearing from you.

Wow, that's kind of inspiring. Could you link me those 2 stories id possible?
Anyway, I think part of why I haven't gotten much replies yet is because I'm still fairly new to FimFiction, and I haven't done much activity with my account yet to make myself noticeable. But I'm thinking of giving this a shot, once I find some time to write something down when college work isn't an issue. Thank you for your opinion and follow.
I would say go for it...
