I'm at Wal-Mart right now. They've been remodeling for about a month, now. Electronics are where they usually are, and so are the books. What caught my eye today was boxes of MLP merchandise. When I went to the books section, I couldn't stop looking at the book 'MLP Equestria Girls: Rainbow Rocks'. All I could think was "Dammit, why'd you follow me here?!!" Mainly because I haven't told my parents about me watching MLP and being a brony. I'd look like a sissy faggot if I carried a DJ PON3 doll with me to the register, and I'd be disappointed when I got home to tell my parents. So ya...that's my dilemma.

The best way to 'break the news', so to speak, would probably be to just tell them. Don't make it a big deal, like you're coming out of the closet or something, just say something like "Hey I'm a brony" while you're in the car or something. Say it casually, and act like it's not a big deal. It's like removing a bandage: it's better to just get it done quickly.

1) I'm afraid of what other people might think of me, especially my family. Every once in a while, they'd watch the show, but they didn't enjoy it so much they'd look it up. Dad's never really worried about the show, he watches "manly" stuff, like Iron Man 3 or The Avengers. I never really tell dad anything like "Hey, I was watching that!" because I'm afraid of what he'd think of me.
2) I've never been all that social since I transferred to another school. I was always picked on at my old school, and I didn't want it to happen again. I always preferred to keep a mental block. To make matters worse, my family sticks their nose into my business. I don't really feel comfortable with them checking up on me; bank account or college. I mean, I'd be alright with a friend doing that, but I hate when my family does it. Especially my cousin Chasity. I don't want her getting into my business, my parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles give me enough trouble.
Sorry, but it's not so simple to me.

Hey. I know i said I was about to read your newest story but I got sidetracked when I saw this and wanted to share my thoughts. I will admit, I was edgy about admitting I was a brony. In fact, when I first saw the show, I thought nothing of it. Eventually I admitted to four of my friends that I was a brony. I find out that they are too (Well, three bronies and one pegasister). I then went to telling my girlfriend. She doesn't like it as much as I do and she does think it's weird, but, she loves me so much more because I shared something that secret with her. Then came my family...
Let me first say that I am a military man. 11 Bravo Infantry to be exact, on the front lines and always exercising. My family is a long line of military. Wasn't easy for me to just come out and say it. When I did though, there was, of course, the "oh he's joking" stage. Then I said it seriously with as much force as I could behind it (not saying you should, It's just how I'm trained to handle a situation). They accept it, my dad sometimes teases me, and my mom will even watch it with me when it comes on tv. My unit even knows and they always tease me for it, but they don't treat me as any less of a brother.
I'm not saying it will be easy. And yes there will be bullies and jerks, don't forget the straight up pricks, but, why hang around people and expect people to respect you if you put on a fake image. If you're a brony, be your own brony. Do what you think is best and what you feel like doing. Because, in the end, it's only you and the people who accept everything about you.
