Bon Voyage! · 12:21am Apr 4th, 2014
As a member of the Royal Canadian Air Cadets I am obligated to participate in the Spring Field Training exercise taking place this weekend. In this "Survival weekend" we spend the entire time at a campsite, sleeping in tents (which I absolutely hate :P) without any access to computers or any form of technology. We learn to do stuff like, build shelters, light campfires, work as a team and most of all, have fun! For every single meal we get an MRE (Meal Ready to Eat) a type of ration used by the military. It contains such wonderful things as, Hash Browns and Bacon (which is actually just Ham and Rice) Scrambled Eggs, (I don't even know what that is supposed to be. I think the army is the only thing that can screw up eggs) and Cheese Paste (Which tastes good at first and then makes you vomit). Each of these things has enough calories in it to sustain a soldier on the go for a whole day. But due to regulations they are forced to give us three a day. (We don't eat all of it each time though, one kid did and got so sick he had to go home) Anyway this ends on Sunday. So don't expect any activity till then.
Yeah, I had to go through with that, except I was in the Army Cadets. My stint during the Army Cadets didn't last two years.
