Hello again! Today we will be covering ‘The Incredibly Dense Mind of Rainbow Dash’ by Chengar Qordath (original version) , the humble beginning of the popular Winnningverse. And it has a guess rifer, Pinkie Pie!
This story has an alternate riff if you are interested. Atlas Nebula and Fallen Prime riffed this story too. You can find it here, and it done by someone that actually knows what they are doing!
After reading this, I can see why the Winningverse isn’t about Rainbow Dash or Pinkie Pie. Rainbow Dash comes off as a very unpleasant pony. I wouldn’t want to read a series about her. Honestly, I didn’t like the story very much. All the characters come off as very flat, out of character, and one note. And it basically only has one joke that is used over and over again despite all reason. But, we all have to start somewhere. Not the worst place to start out. It is too bad I’m not more familiar with the Winningverse, it would neat to see how this compares to later chapters and stories. I’m sure it would be quite a shock.
For a while I have been toying with the idea of having Pinkie Pie being a riffer. I thought it would be fun idea for a single riff to mix things up a bit. She was going to be in the last chapter, but I decided against it. It was too complicated, and Pinkie would be entering a story that she knew nothing about. I didn’t want to spend time reexplaining things to her. Having her riff a one shot seemed like a much better idea, and I don’t think I could have picked a better story for her to be in. It was hard at first to write riffs for her. I was so used to writing riffs for two people... er...ponies, so it was hard to get in the right mind set for her. I got it eventually, and I think I did a pretty good job. It was really fun, and she has good dynamic with the Doctor and Ditzy. I don’t know if I will do it again. We will see. If I get a good story that would be perfect for her to riff on, I might add her.
A bit of news. I finally finished reading Spread of Darkness. I’ve decided that I am definitely going to do it. And no, I am not going to do the clop scenes. It is just as silly as I thought it would be (A strong point when I want to riff a story). It has Fluttershy eating meat (or at least implying that she is), and an ultra powerful self insert OC character that completely derails the story. Just to name a few. I want to do it so bad now. I won’t do it right away, but I think I will get to it in a few months. I haven’t really decided when I want to do it yet.
The next story I am going to do is the The Legend of Starlight by twow443. The very creator of Twow’s Riffs. It is perhaps the most ridiculous story I have ever done or ever will do. The main character is probably the biggest, most blatant Mary Sue character EVER. It’s hilarious. I just love this story. It brings me endless amusement for some reason. I plan on doing books two and three as well. I’m skipping the fourth book for now. It only has one chapter. After that? Who knows? It might be Spread of Darkness. We will see.
