A Heinous Hiatus: Goodbye for Now · 10:36pm Mar 19th, 2014
After some deep metathought and an examination of some records I have been keeping about various things and stuff (this is all very technical, I would have you know), I have decided to put everything on hiatus until the weather can figure out what season it wants to be.
That may seem like an arbitrary reason, but its means more than you think. With the weather all out of whack, my hands have not been on their best behavior. Wild weather aside, my Raposa was missing for a week as she changed residences and that wasn't a fun experience either. I have noticed that I do the most writing when I sleep almost like a normal person because I then have time to dream about the stories and characters I'm writing about. I have said many times that I'm more like a reporter or a tour guide in relation to these stories and adventures, learning and experiencing the story just like any of you, the readers; I'm just a few steps ahead of the rest of you. However, with my sleep as fragmented as it is, I don't have the opportunity to see the events unfold and therefore cannot write about them. I could force myself to write about it but it wouldn't be the same and the quality would be atrocious.
I don't know if a standing weather pattern will bring any lasting relief, but as things are, I can't go on like this for much longer and expect to be sane at the end of the semester. Hopefully, taking a step back, getting some rest, and fixing my sleeping patterns will bring me back to a more productive state. If worst comes to worst, I won't improve and it may not be until I'm set up in Brasil with Raposa by my side before I can start producing anything worth reading.
So, for the time being, adieu, FIM Fiction.
