Concerning "My Little Prince" and Future Fics · 4:37pm Mar 11th, 2014
Hey Everyone,
You’re all going to notice my story will be undergoing some drastic revisions compared to the original draft in my pastebin. After taking numerous criticisms in to account, which I asked for, I decided it would be best to alter the content of what I consider to be my first real story. One particular critic made a point that it seemed like I wrote with “one hand on the keyboard, and my dick in the other.” While I was deeply offended, in a way, this person is correct. I was drawn to write in second-person initially to entertain my audience. Every single one of my writings so far has been a more or less a suggestion or request that I decided to put a little bit of my own personal spin onto. As I wrote, people seemed highly pleased with the way the story was going and that stroked my ego quite (not to mention the numerous pieces of fanart). I felt like I could get away with anything I wanted at that point, throwing in more and more “adult” content at my reader’s discretion, and that was a mistake. Perhaps the worst offence was trying to throw in a twist that was way outside the normal conventions of most of the stories here. I pride myself on at least trying to be creative even if I do not have writing skills to back it up, which in retrospect is not a good combination, and I’m glad this person had the balls to call me out on it.
I won’t lie; I still enjoy the original ending to my story as I find it rather engaging, especially since it was planned from the beginning . I prefer dramatic themes overall, but I suppose this story just came out as overly dark and repulsive. It was disappointing to see the community so divided on something I had worked really hard on, but it was a good learning experience for me in the end. I have already begun to improve my proofreading and editing skills (anyone who has read through Part’s 2, 3, and 4 in the pastebin again can attest to that), but more importantly, I think I have a better gauge of my audience now. My main goal is and always has been to entertain and inspire others to write or draw, after all the work of others was what inspired me to write in the first place. In the future, I plan hope to write more tasteful stories for a wider audience and try to ease up a bit on the mature content. Again, I’m always looking for suggestions for new stories and critique. P.S. I know some people like the original writing and ending (Part 4 having more views than Part 3 proves that), and won't stop completely stop writing such content.

and the twist wasn't the problem , it was the lack of reason for the twist....
