A touch of Casual Horror · 7:06am Mar 3rd, 2014
Cheers all,
For anyone who has been looking at my submissions, I'm hoping you're enjoying them.
If it's not clear yet, I tend to write with a focus on the scene or environment rather than the 'bad guy' that most folks seem to work with. While there's nothing wrong with the bad guy model, I have rarely found it to fit with the ideas that pop into my head and become stories. That's not to say my stories can't/don't have bad guys of course.... reading my primary story should clear that up... but my one shots and short stories will almost exclusively focus upon the scene and the mental actions of the characters rather than "Rawr I'm the bad guy!" situations.
For clarity, it's the difference between Kung Fu Panda and Rocky (any of the Rocky's really).
Anyway, I decided to try something a little different with my most recent offering - I aimed for a casual horror story. Yheah... kind of a strange idea. In this case, I think it COULD have actually been a "slice of life" as well as "adventure", but seeing as how the meat of the story is action/adventure/horror, I decided to pick the adventure tag over the slice of life. If you read it, I think you might understand my reasoning though.
Either way, here's to hoping you folks enjoy.
Cheers.
