Hiatus announcement(s), plus Location Map/Reference for new project. · 2:11am Feb 19th, 2014
I haven't updated Outlooks/And They Speak English in a while. And now, there they go to Hiatus. I'll probably update Outlooks finally since 2/3 of the chapter has been sitting around for forever, but that's not the point. I realize now that they were basically just attention grabbers - stories with unique enough premises to garner some attention, barely adequate writing to keep most readers from throwing it away in disgust.
That's not how I want to write. That's not how I'm going to grow and mature in my writing abilities. That's just going to get me empty statistics.
I realized I was writing for the reaction, not the story itself, and I don't want to do that.
"You can start by not writing for fame and popularity. That's the path to depression and demotivation. I suggest you write for the joy of writing and telling a story, and don't give a damn about how popular or unpopular it is. The goal isn't the featured box, any shit can get in there if enough blind fans upvote and comment enough. The goal is taking your abilities and bringing them to their maximum potential, to write at the best possible level you can, and leaving even a single reader walking away from the experience with more than they first came with. That is the true reward."
- John Hood, the ultimate example of writing an excellent stor(ies) that has very few likes and views compared to far worse contemporaries.
So, I'm starting a story. It will actually be well-planned out - something previous entries of mine have utterly lacked. The characters will be developed, the grammar will have been looked over many times, and I'll create a world of my own. And with luck, I'll enjoy it.
Perhaps I'll come back two my two stories in limbo someday. Hopefully, I'll do so as a matured writer, ready to do the stories and their concepts the writing they deserve.
Exhibit A, actual planning:
Have a wonderful life, everyone. Imperaxum out.

The blood of thousands was expended to provide the exact and minutely accurate proportions of that map. Gaze in awe, gentlemen.
