Sequel to Just a Friendly Game coming soon... · 6:33am Feb 9th, 2014
I hadn't really planned on it. The original was just a weird, fun little idea I had that combined two of my favorite things in the world (MLP and Football), I enjoyed the hell out of writing it, and that was pretty much the extent of it. But now I'm getting this urge to continue it (probably just my way of coping with the end of football season, *sad sigh*). Those who read it may recall it ended with a bit of a cliffhanger, though I tried to give it this feeling like it was never really going to resolve itself and that it would be best if we all just accepted it and moved on...
But now I really feel like I can do something interesting with it in a sequel. I don't have the whole thing thought out completely yet, and my thing is that I don't start writing something until I have the whole thing thought out from beginning to end, that way I can better avoid writers block or running into dead-ends that can cause a story to be abandoned, but I have a good idea of what I want to do and where I want the story to go.
Without giving too much away, it'll be significantly longer than the original, and I'm gonna try to include more ponies in the game besides the Mane Six (background and side characters), so it'll feel more like a professional game instead of a three-on-three scrimmage like in the original. Also, thanks to some good criticism I got on the original, I'm gonna try to make it a little more accessible for non-football fans so they can get some enjoyment out of it as well and not feel like they're sitting through a boring lecture about a sport they don't care for. After all, this is first and foremost a comedy.
Anyways, I'll try to get started on it as soon as possible, and I just want to add that if anyone has any suggestions for me, like maybe which ponies they want to see included or anything else, just send me a comment, or a private message if you'd rather, and I'll see what I can do. I like hearing suggestions from others, particularly others who are way more clever and smarter than I (which would be most of you).
Thanks for your support, and keep an eye out for Just a Friendly Game 2: The Re-...friendlying...ish...thing... (Just a working title).
