Equestria needs a Doctor: Rewrite · 2:29pm Feb 4th, 2014

Okay, nobody freak out, I'm not rewriting the entire story. Consider this more of a clean-up .I was looking back on "Doctor Who: Equestria needs a Doctor" recently, and with the ever approaching release of it's sequel, I've decided to fix up a lot of the grammar mistakes and less than stellar writing. Forgive me, it was my first story and the early mistakes really show. With that being said, a few of the things in the story are being changed to fit the carnage-verse, so if you cannot be fucked to read it again this blog post will explain what has changed. The following is a list of the changes:
- When Vinyl Scratch mocks Dash by calling her a fillyfooler, Dash no longer states that she is bisexual. She instead claims that she is straight. This is to keep continuity because in "How to Tell Your Friends You're Dating a Changeling," a main premise of the story is that most ponies believe a made up lie that Dash is gay, when in actuality, she is straight.
-The scene where Ponyville sees the Doctor for the first time has been altered. When Octavia catches a glimpse of the Doctor, she doesn't answer Berry Punch but keeps staring, mystified. Instead, a passing Cloudchaser screams changeling, name dropping Question Mark (the League + HTTYFYDAC) in the process. This was done to reinforce Octavia's attraction to the Doctor, while at the same time creating a small link to later stories.
-When Celestia is freaking out over the state of her country, it is much more obvious that the problem is because of a large gender divide that may be approaching again. This used to be so bad that mares outnumbered stallions 80/20.
- On top of this, the gender divide stated by Rarity has gone from 70/30 to 60/40. When I wrote that statistic initially, I was basing it off solely on how many more mares than there were stallion in Ponyville. Seeing more of Equestria since then, I feel 60/40 would be loser, but can also still be considered the beginning of a problem for the country.
- Any mention of the changelings settling into pony society has been completely removed and replaced with the mention that there hasn't been any sight of them since the invasion.
- Lyra's conversation with the Doctor has been slightly altered.
- The formatting for the story has been overhauled to match the later stories in the carnage-verse.
- Some of the Doctor's (Time Lord) dialogue has been changed to make it sound more like the tenth Doctor than just any generic Doctor. This was an issue initially with some people. The pony Doctor wont be changed as he was meant to be closer to generic Time Pony.
- Speaking of which, the term Time Pony no longer exists. The pony Doctor is also referred to as a Time Lord and Gallineigh is back to Gallifrey.
As you can see, the main bulk of the story is there, but I may well change a few more things as I go through it. I have currently finished chapter 5 and am now on chapter 6. If you have any suggestions, please let me know.
Also, on an unrelated note...
That moment when you remember the Doctor used to travel through time and space with a shapshifting private penguin detective… and it’s fucking canon. This is an example of a terrible idea done unbelievably well. Seriously, check out the comics and the audio dramas if you want to know who that Frobisher (the penguin) is. He was a companion of the sixth and seventh Doctors.
I just read Prisoners of Time. I had no idea Frobisher was an actual Companion, that's awesome!
