Thoughts on Disney’s Frozen. Spoiler free. · 6:51am Jan 17th, 2014
Disney actually made the worst and best movie for me, all at the same time. The high level premise of the movie is amazing, but I ended up hating a lot of implementation details. I also had problems with some of the casting and quite a few missed opportunities to make things better.
I don’t like musicals either so I basically had to tune out every song in the movie… except for “Let It Go”.
Elsa is hands down the best Queen that disney has done yet. Her internal struggles are fantastic! I’m not going to go into details but it was so well done. Her sequence with “Let It Go” is just amazing. Her movements, the expressions on her face, the colors, her hair (hair in 3D is HARD), even the way she walks is amazing. All of this left me breathless.
