Season 4

Does anybody else feel like this season is a little bit... off? Don't get me wrong, it's not been bad per se, but I feel like the show's changed dramatically between seasons, and I'm not sure what they're aiming at any more.

So far there have only been two (admittedly) great episodes (Flight to the Finish and Rarity Takes Manehattan), while the others range from pointlessly absurd (Daring Don't, Power Ponies, Bats!) to mostly inoffensive (Princess Twilight Sparkle and Castle Mane-ia).
I guess Princess Twilight wasn't a bad season opener, but it really wasted some time and had a moral lesson that I feel like we already went over more than once (don't abandon your friends), but it really didn't redeem the Alicornification (not a word) of Twilight like they promised it would.
Although it was the only time this season that Princess Twilight did anything related her being a Princess.

And the three absurd episodes (see above) offered nothing beyond pointless magical shenanigans that seem out of place even in a show as absurd as MLP usually gets. I mean seriously, magic comic books? Come on guys.

I dunno. I'm just a weirdo who writes pony-related porn stories, but this season feels like it's grasping for straws.

While I'll agree the comic book was kinda random, so what?
Um... I was just about to try and compare it to an other episode but yeah, it's definitely the most out there.

As for the rest of it, the only thing I've had a problem with [besides rarity getting an episode at all] was in Bats where they make a point out of showing that the apple is reflective, then use the apple... and pull it out of the way of a mirror.
