Hey guys. A lot of blogs recently, I know, but there has been a lot on my mind and someone actually said that I should keep writing these, so that's what I'm gonna do. With the release of my tenth fic not that long ago, and the end of my second year of writing pony nearing (in half a year... that's close right?) I got thinking about what started me writing.
Now, I've posted a blog before explaining why I write, and while that blog is correct, it took more then that to get me to start. To be precise, the nagging from one of my most annoying friends.
My friend, who I will never fully understand, came up with an idea. He claims he had a dream about it, but whatever. About his OC, Eclipse, and had grand plans for the little alicorn, little brohter to Celestia and Luna, who accidentally killed his own father, broke out of jail, who's only friend was Cadence. So on so forth. He thought out a grand epic, and when he told me, I helped him plan it. I even helped him plan a sequel.
I started encouraging him to write it, but I found out quickly he could neither type, spell, nor write. He was an idea ind of guy, so I did it. AT the time I had some basic level of skill regarding writing, and could type fairly well. So I started writing Eclipse.
Now, I know none of you reading this has actually read Eclipse, and honestly I don't think you should. It is the only fic I may never complete, simply ebcause it's not my story. it's a story that my friends wanted to tell. After I started writing it, I lost interest quickly, it wasn't mine; why should I write it?
My name back then was Chobita Eclipse, which is my friend's screen name. When I branched off and started writing my won thing, i changed my name to my own screen name, Kodeake. One day I'll post a blog about the story behind that name and it's funky spelling, but that won't be for a while.
I rote my first three stories; Don't Give Up, The Day the Sun Didn't Rise, and When Time Catches Up. They were all so much better than Eclipse and I loved writing them so much that I began writing my own stories full-time, and eclipse was lost to me. It didn't hold the same allure as Twidash, or even my own ideas. SO I dropped it. I told my friend I wouldn't write it anymore, and to either write it himself, find someone who would write it, or forget about it ever being written. I was so sick of him nagging me every day to get another chapter up, to work on something that wasn't mine. I had enough, and I marked it cancelled. It will likely ever be finished. it has something like five likes, three dislikes, 300 views, and two favorites. A couple comments. And while I never wrote for popularity, I did want to give enjoyment t as many people as possible, so of course the fics that had the larger fan base were given priority.
He's still not happy with me about it, but I couldn't write something like that any more; it was strangling my creativity. everything I wrote I had to run by him to make sure it fit his vision, and more often than not he was pestering me with new ideas he wanted me to add. I got so tired I flipped out on him, and forcefully ended him ever bringing it up again to me.
So there it is, the story behind Eclipse, beginning to end.
I'm half way done chapter three of Cheated Dreams, and I really need some sleep.
Until tomorrow,
Kodeake out
That was interesting. Learn something new everyday.
You guys could have alternated chapters with different perspectives for each one.
