    Rewrite and Personal News

    Hey all,

Just wanted to let you guys know of a decision regarding "Beat to Quarters", as well as some good news on the homefront. First, regarding BtQ. I don't currently have any work done on the next chapter. It's going to stay that way for a while, because I'm planning to rewrite/edit much of the already published portion. Why, you may ask?

    New chapter

New chapter of "Beat to Quarters" is complete, and I don't have a pre-reader anymore, so all I need to do is format it to this site. Expect to see it tonight or tomorrow.

    EDIT: It's up.

    Cheers,

    Of Writings and Blockages

Yeah. Writer's block. I have it. The worst part is, I find myself writing, but not for the story I'm really attached to (that'd be Beat to Quarters). I've even started the sequel, and I haven't even finished the damn story yet. Sorry I'm so slow at updating, and fear not, I haven't forgotten you guys or the story. It's just coming along slower than I expected.

    Flying back to Benning

I'm flying back to Ft. Benning today to finish out my Army training. This will be as before, no internet and no writing (like I was writing anyway). I'll be back online Feb. 1 when I get to my permanent duty station.

Hey all, just wanted to let you know I'm on holiday block leave from basic training and made it home safe despite the lake effect snow. I'm already enjoying the break and spending some time with my family before I finish up basic and head to my duty station.

As far as "Beat to Quarters" is concerned, I'm having a hard time getting back in the saddle. I know exactly how I thought I was going to continue it, and I have the notes, but... I re-read the story and I felt as though it was written by someone else.

It's like not seeing a good friend for months, then getting reunited and feeling as though they're not how you remember them. People tell me that setting a story aside for a while allows you to take a fresh look at it. Well I have, and to be honest I'm not sure if I like what I see. I poured a considerable amount of time and a less considerable amount of talent into BtQ, fought tooth and nail to advertise it and get it some recognition, and now... I don't even know why I bothered.

Maybe I'm just in a slump creativity-wise, but I keep getting the nagging feeling that this writing thing isn't for me. As always, I love hearing from you guys/gals. Happy holidays.
