1k hidden treasures: Between a Rock Farm and a New Place 12/8/13-12/14/13

Okay everypony! I hope you're ready for the first EVER 1k hidden treasures! Today we have a special story titled 'Between a Rock Farm and a New Place' from the writer Random_User(Yes that is the name, not an actual random user). Please don't be too judgmental, this is only my first review. This story follows the romantic encounters between Marble Pie, Pinkie Pie's pink challenged sister, and Horte Cuisine, a pony with a stick up his posterior but a heart of cherry custard. It also follows her asperations to become a cook with difficult challenges she will have to rise too lest the flames get too hot for her to handle.

All in all it is a nice romantic little romp, while it does have plenty of romantic elements it still manages to paint a very nice picture of who Marble is as a pony. It shows her with hopes, dreams, confidence issues and a desire to set out on her own while simultaneously not wanting to abandon those who raised her. Definitely worth a read. However I would suggest downloading it to an Ipad and snuggling up besides a warm, toasty fire while reading, as it is definitely a feel good story that can give you a nice warm feeling.

Unfortunately, while the story is good, it is not without its flaws. There are a few editing issues, namely in the form of missed quotation marks, but they can be rare. The biggest issues I found with the story was that most of the build up tended to lead to anti-climatic finishes. Things that were hinted at or foreshadowed tended to be wrapped up and dealt with in a matter of a few sentences without a lot of excitement or work. In fact, a lot of the drama seems to happen off screen, which can be a bit disappointing at times.

All in all though, an excellent story. Cute, funny and I personally find Marble and Cuisine's relationship to be absolutely adorable and well detailed and definitely worth picking up for a read if you have a bit of time on your hands and want something short, sweet and filling. Bon Bon appetit.
