He's done it again. · 6:06am Dec 5th, 2013
So, for those of you that have not yet read, or somehow otherwise missed the site update blog, have the link.
So major points:
1.
The biggest change is icon changes. I haven't completed this change yet but basically instead of image icons I'm now using FontAwesome which means the icons are actually now a font.
While I can see this being a good things, mainly because you can use addons to recolor them. I can also see this being a bad thing. Fonts could take longer to load, and it seems that people are already having problems with FontAwesome.
2.
I've changed the headers on top of content boxes, changed some colours for toolbars and made buttons prettier.
Admittedly, these changes look good for the most part.
3.
I've also removed the ability to set custom backgrounds
Like Knighty said in the blog, this could cause fallout among the people that liked having custom backgrounds. But at the same time, he's right in his reason for doing it. When you give the user the ability to have a custom back
4.
edit: If you have problems with the site brightness, it means your monitor is too bright. Try turning it down.
Could of handled that one better, bro.
5. The way stories are set as read has changed, but was not mentioned. You can now uncheck read stories.
6. User boxes have been changed a bit. They look a little better in my opinion.
7. Maybe it's just me, but the banners don't seem to be loading.
8. Notifications still don't update on the page. If you had any when a page was loaded, it continues to say you have that many, even after you load a new tab and check them.
That's all the things I've seen in this update. If I missed anything, let me know.
I miss the old look. It's been that way since at least I got here.
