    Why are you here?

Logged into this page years later to find a recent comment on old work. That was a surprise. Who else is around?

    Ink On Life's Paper

[Note: ch3 of It's Not You They Fear has been edited and updated. 'Bout darn time.]

So I was gonna write some deep post about silver linings in pain and training hard for your struggles, but I realized the struggle for today was finishing those edits. Check it out if you have the time and boredom to do it. And here is an adorable picture of Luna in case you need to smile.

    Resurgence

Looking at the timestamps, it seems it's been nearly three months since I last posted on here. Life still has water on the ground and running down the sides of the streets, but the sun is shining once again.

    Forever and A Day

Well hello everyone, it sure has been a while. While I've put out a new chapter of The Long Road Home, this place hasn't seen a lot of other attention. I've been very busy trying not to leave any free time at all in my life to think.

    Steps

Once upon a time, a man much wiser than myself told me something. He said: 'We are what we do. The only difference between a writer and myself is that the writer picked up a pen or pulled up a keyboard, and wrote something.' I suppose that makes me many things. One of the easiest for me to see is running until I became a runner.

Going Places...soon? (Sage) · 4:21pm Dec 4th, 2013

So, after three and a half years of waiting, I finally got my AFSC. For those of you in the Army or Navy, that's my MOS. For the rest of you, that's an Air Force Specialty Code (my job when I graduate in five months or so here). I'm going to be a 'Cyberspace Operations Control Officer', more commonly known as 'cyber'. It's a field open to anyone with a degree, but I figure after a few years in engineering school, and a couple of programming projects, the tech school for it won't be all that bad. It will however, be six months in Mississippi, which means all kinds of hot and uncomfortable.

I also was informed that the USAF is looking to cut several hundred new officers from this coming graduating year, and only from certain fields. Yes, mine is one of them. They're asking for volunteers, and the way these things work is that if they don't get enough volunteers, people start getting voluntold. I'm pretty confident I'm competitive enough to stay, but if not...well I'll figure out what to do from here. They're going to have to drag me out kicking and screaming to make me go though. I've dreamed of serving America for four years now, trained and studied my little rump off, and I don't want to go.

As for the immediate factor of life, I'm looking at finals this coming week, and a lot of busywork for this one. Same story, and if you've been to school you know it without me rambling about it. On the bright side-I've got a week and a half til I can really get back to writing, and I've got three things coming up. The first is the sequel (well, prequel really, but it's meant to be read after) 'It's Not You They Fear'. First chapter is all good, just waiting on a cover art I've commissioned. The second is a satire, which Vermy mentioned in his last post, and I'm waiting on edits and a cover art. The last...is a horror story which I wrote for my creative writing class. The teacher was confounded that I 'wrote a story so dark that had pretty ponies it' and as such could not take it seriously. My group gave me some more...creative feedback. I've removed a few names, but prepare yourself for from non-brony feedback on pony fan fiction.

The next guy actually took the time to express his consternation at the concept of a creature without hands using human utensils by drawing this on the last page of the story I gave him (includes some spoilers!) :

Hope you all got some kicks out of that. I'm still not really sure if I want to post this story (I'm just not cut out for horror stories), but if you want it, I've got it edited, and I can cook up a cover art pretty quick.

Semper Filly everypony, and press on through those finals!

'red Sage

Oh and, Vermy wanted me to let you guys know he's posting his next fic 'Death Falls like a Silent Hammer' this coming week (I can only assume he's going to keep me up late editing it), and resume work on 'Life Has a Volume Knob' in January.
