Alright. Some of you may know that I once worked on the story of the janitor. Now, at the time being it was an experimental concept I was working with; I liked how it started out, but somewhere along the way I felt it went in the wrong direction. For this reason, there will be a major reboot of the story. The basic concept will stay the same, though I wish to make him more of an eery, silent and neutral character. So the first part will basically remain unchanged, but some parts of the story will receive major remodelling. Keep an eye open for those updates when they come.

But yeah, he did seem like he was slowly becoming just a different flavor of the Purveyor over time.
It'll be great to see it back, and follow the new direction it takes.
So are you simply going to modify the existing story, or delete the old and post the new version as a different story?
That was my feeling, pretty much - and also the story I started following you for. When he first started to speak, I went 'huh, that went a place I didn't expect.' He always felt better as a looming, vaguely threatening silent type.

Yeah, I think I like it better as a neutral character, whose actions are influenced by something beyond whatever is currently happening. I.E, the civil war. That way, if he tangles with Celestia, it's not because he was swayed by a changeling child, but because....she tracked mud on the floor. I could totally see that happening, if you intend to keep the Janitor as he was in the beginning. Celestia struts in, mud everywhere, and her arrogance raises the ire of the Janitor.
Would the story now have a Princess Twilight?

1537681 Not sure yet, I could simply modify the old one but then it wouldn't be what the original readers faved... so I'll probably delete the old one or put it in hiatus and put out a new one.

1538088 Do a "chapter" with a link to the new version. After a month or two, just delete old one. This way even people who not follow you are going to have an info about story.
