Heritage, continuation and renewal.
Those are the themes of the two parter "Princess Twilight Sparkle."
We traveled back in time, finally witnessed Luna's banishment(in what it is the best animated action sequence of the show till now.), Discord's defeat and its intricated plans and finally the origins of the Elements. The elements of Harmony as we know them are gone, but a new seed grew from them and thanks to the only thing in Equestria that cannot fade: The Mane 6's Friendship.
Simple moral is simple. Also, I don't think we've seen the last of the Elements. In the finale we will certainly know about the box content and who knows...Harmony never fades and maybe new elements are on the way...
Or new toys, same thing.
A younger generation has undone what the older done and this is good. Change is good and Twilight's Cutiemark up here with the Sun and Moon is the final proof. Kinda reminds of the Legend of Korra second season finale for who has saw it. Won't spoil that, too
Speaking of Discord, he's set up to be the best character of this season. Also, when the Spirit of Chaos is the voice of reason, you know there's something wrong with you.
Also, I've invented a Drinking Game: Take a shot every time you feel the urge to shout to Twilight 'YOU CAN BUCKING FLY!'
is no one wondering if twilight stays in canterlot or goes back to ponyville!?

Maybe she goes over to Canterlot some episodes, so they find an excuse to not have her in some episodes.
...or "You can bucking teleport!" or "You are in a flashback, for goodness' sake!"
