Milestones! Such fun little ideas to keep track of your growth. What is this one? Well, on the eve of the Season 4 Premiere, I got my 50th follower. Not much compared to those big shot writers, but it means a lot to me.
So, where do we go from here? Well, as some of you may already know, I released a new story this week.
Many Kinds of Love, staring Clover the Clever and Princess Platinum. I made an interesting discovery from this, it is a lot of fun to write for ponies that don't often get a lot of love. This inspired another one shot I am working on, that is actually the subject of a competition between myself and the far more famous authors, Draconian Soul and Rainbow Bob. I may be outgunned by popularity, but you better believe I'm not handing either of them a win. This old dog still has a few tricks. I might elaborate on the specifics of the contest a bit later, so keep your eyes open!
I've begun work on The Mysterious Mare Do Well Returns! in my spare time. This is mostly due to the fact that I found a lot of ways to tie it in with my existing story 30 Days of Temptation. I'm gonna plug that here, because if you looked at it and thought it was boring before (which is a justified view, lets be honest) then you might be in for a nice surprise with the latest chapter and the one I am working on now. Things are speeding up, and I can see the chaos that must come before the conclusion shaping up nicely.
I think the biggest challenge in planning out the Mare Do Well story was finding problems that would challenge Luna, without delving into Sue territory or making her 'forget her powers'. I've resolved that problem, so now I just need to tie everything together. I'm imagining roughly seven chapters for that story, so small by chaptered standards. We'll see what happens, however. What gets me, is that after that I have no idea what to do with my little 'universe'.
You see, some of my stories I treat as happening in the same continuity. 'Longest Day', '30 Days', 'Mare Do Well', and the previously mentioned challenge fic will all take place in the same timeline. Now the question becomes if I want to keep moving with that once these projects are completed, or move along a different path? This answer will probably be decided by Season 4, but I guess we'll see how the dice fall.
Thanks a lot for watching me, and rest assured I've still got some great ideas rattling around in this head of mine!
