    News, also, still not dead

And don't worry, the news is good. Mostly. Here's the deal: I have OFFICIALLY FINISHED Chapter 53 of Dueling is Magic! Many Futures. Well, pretty much anyway. I'm debating whether or not to add one more description of something happening at the end of the duel. But other than that and selecting the Featured Cards, the chapter's finished. FINALLY, right?

    Kattobingu da Ore no Inspiration!

It's been a LONG time since there's been an update from me. Honestly, I was so busy with work that I didn't have the time or energy to finish the next chapter. My whole life is something of a wreck right now, and I've suddenly found myself out of a job.

    Merry Christmas, my bronies!

It's been ages since anyone's heard from me, but rest assured, I'm still alive! Unfortunately, I've done basically no work on Many Futures, and I really need to get back to it... but I just don't have as much time as I used to. See, I got me a job. A REAL job, not some temp shtick. It's a burger joint, but I'm enjoying it. That and Duel Links is taking up a ton of my time.

    Bad News

I've been putting this off because I'm scared of disappointing all of you, but I guess I have to come out and say it at some point.

I lost it all. The duel. The next chapter. It's gone. I'd rather not explain how.

I honestly don't know if I have it in me to rewrite all of that. I'll try, but I just don't know if I can.

New Card Preview: Aporia, Round 2! · 9:12pm Nov 8th, 2013

Just to give you an idea of how Aporia's duel will go, here's one of the new cards I'm giving him!

Parts Exchange
TRAP
Continuous Trap Card
Once per turn, during your turn: You can target a face-up Level 1 "Attack", "Carrier", "Guard", or "Top" monster you control; place 1 counter on this card, also destroy that monster, then Special Summon 1 monster with the same name but a different first word ("Wisel", "Skiel", or "Granel") from your hand or deck. (Counters placed on this card cannot be removed by other effects, or by this card's effects being negated.) When this card has at least 3 counters on it, destroy it. When this card is destroyed: Draw 1 card.

Yep, Aporia will be mixing it up with various Meklord Parts to put additional pressure on his opponent! Combine that with the fact that Meklord Emperors can mix and match parts while still gaining their power, and you've got a recipe for absolute chaos!

The duel is being outlined as I write this, so stay tuned!

Ooooooh mamma... I hate to be the guy whose gonna face THAT!!!

I mean, the Meklords are to synchros what G.E.Photon Dragon is to Numbers (Guy's a great card btw, I highly recommend trying him out, he's is just so broken!!!:rainbowlaugh:) so a card like this pretty much makes them something like Chaos Emperor Dragon or something!!!

1500500 Galaxy-Eyes was a highly underrated card when it was released. Now that Chaos Dragons are a thing, however, it gets splashed into every other dragon deck.

I dunno about comparing Meklords to Chaos Emperor Dragon, though. That is a top contender for "Most Broken Card Ever". Not even Stardust Dragon can stop it.

Oh, and Aporia WILL get to use this effect three times.

1500593 Really?! Wow... then I guess it's title is well earned.

What if I used Stardust Spark Dragon, Stardusts manga counterpart, would that work?

1500649 Stardust Dragon can't stop the Emperor Dragon because its effect doesn't "destroy" anything. It "sends" cards to the Graveyard. Stardust Spark Dragon is just as vulnerable.

1500684 Dang, I was hoping you wouldn't say that.

So... apart from something like Skill Drain, IS there anyway to counter C.E.D?

1500747 Negate the summon. Kill it on summon (Torrential or BTH). Negate its effect (Skill Drain, Veiler, Breakthrough Skill, Forbidden Chalice). Negate the activation of its effect (Divine Wrath, Herald of Perfection, Herald of Orange Light). Get your opponent down to 1000 or less LP before they summon it. Make it impossible to summon (Graveyard manipulation cards like Tour Bus from the Underworld; Necrovalley; Vanity's Emptiness; Gozen Match or Rivalry of Warlords).

Plenty of ways to keep it from murdering you, but that doesn't make it any less broken.

1500772 And those are all advanced list methods right?

1500859 Yeah. There's also getting it into the Graveyard or banishing it before it's ever Summoned. You could also call it with Prohibition. As far as Traditional methods go, there's the Anti-Hand Trio (Delinquent Duo, Confiscation, and The Forceful Sentry), Crush Card Virus, Solemn Judgment, Ring of Destruction (use it the same way you would Torrential), and Number 16: Shock Master.

But again, none of this makes CED any less broken. If anything, it's even MORE broken due to cards like Eclipse Wyvern and Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon.

1501290 Those two actually work? I always thought C.E.D was a Nomi.

And I must admit I'm surprised Prohibition isn't banned yet. I use it in my Crystal Beast deck, and this was just meant to be for fun so it runs Rainbow Dragon, and yet I managed to make it to 2nd place in an advanced format tournament with it!!! How just ONE CARD was able to make a C.B deck centred on R.D competitive I will NEVER know, but I sure as heck aren't gonna complain!!! XD

1508071 Nope. Semi-Nomi. In PSCT, it would be printed as, "Must first be Special Summoned by..." just like is soldier counterpart.

Prohibition is powerful, if used in the right setting. But it's often relatively easy to kill. Most decks run 2-3 MST. Chaos decks will probably be running Lyla, Lightsworn Sorceress. And sometimes, you might get unlucky with the card you declared and it turns out your opponent never needed it.

1508097 Those reasons are why I always declare soloum judgment when I use it. That way, most negation and destruction effects are unable to hit the feild. And since MST doesn't prevent what it destroys from resolving, its useless even if chained to it.

1510326 MST's not actually useless against Prohibition. Permanent Spells/Traps- that is, Continuous, Equip, and Field Cards- have to remain face-up to resolve properly (card and effects). And those with Continuous Effects also have to remain face-up for those effects to apply.

If Prohibition is activated and its controller declares "Mystical Space Typhoon", you could actually chain MST to it. The, um... prohibiting of MST won't apply until Prohibition has fully resolved, so chaining MST would put a stop to that. Prohibition would fail to resolve properly and MST is good to go for the rest of the duel.

The card will still TRY to resolve, of course, it's just that nothing will happen. Here's an example to help you understand.

If I activate Call of the Haunted and you chain with Royal Decree, I could chain with Dust Tornado and destroy Decree. It hasn't resolved yet, so Tornado will go through. Decree tries to resolve next, but nothing happens. Call resolves and summons its target.

And to understand why the card resolving is important, just have a look at Geartown's rulings and make sure you understand the rules about "When... you can" effects.

1510404 Oy vey, I never DID manage to get a grasp of how MST worked, then again, I'm a bit outta practice.

Btw, you've mentioned a possiblity of the Xyz's being introduced, just whats your opinion of them anyway?

1518584 Don't quite know if Xyz Monsters are supposed to represent anything like Synchros were, other than perhaps a new evolution via willing singularity. When Yuma and Astral become... one...

img.pandawhale.com/83367-son-of-a-bitch-gif-Iron-Man-RD-j58t.gif

1518881 Honestly, I find Xyz's to spammable. Atleast, compared to Synchros and fusion, at least they need a specific type of card to hit the field.

1518911 I don't think you understand what just happened in my brain.

1518958 I have a pretty good idea.:twilightoops: I just chose to ignore the thought and stay on subject.:ajbemused:

1518993 NOT THAT, jeez. :facehoof: I mean that I got a FAN-FREAKING-TASTIC idea!:pinkiegasp:

1519058 Oooooooooooooh......... heh, sorry, it's the internet, can't go 5 mins without... THAT kind of humor popping up somehow.

But enough about that, what's this idea you shout of?

1519220 SINGULARITY, dude! :rainbowlaugh:

Also, check out the other card I posted. You might like it.

1519429 Singu-whatsit? Is this a time science thing?

oh and I looked, aren't you making it a bit OPed? I mean, shouldn't it have a drawback of some kind for balance?

Just sayin.

1519453 Don't you remember from the first two stories?

1519658 Its has been a while but... wasn't that the name of Yusei and Paradoxes final battleground?

1524727 Not just that. The word was also in the name of Paradox's new boss monster, Malefic Singularity Dragon. And there was more than one reason for that, if you remember.

1524997 I'll just leave it there then, but this new idea sounds like somthing worth waiting for.

Can't wait to see where you take it, until then:pinkiehappy:
