i wanna write a story based on a song called ain't no rest for the wicked...gonna be short story...BUT i might not be able to due to the whole
copyright lyrics
dilemma that I have to face because I plan on using some of the lyrics myself within the story as quotes on what people would say. BUT NOW I wanna write a story where some magical fictional group of people get butthurt over the fellow people using copyrighted materials and using bad language so they themselves get censored. Basically what I am saying is...this is going to be that one family guy episode where the FCC or whoever censored the griffen family. Because I really think that whole copyright lyrics thing is ridiculous. I was talking to people and they agree that it is public domain to use. If it wasn't then all those lyrics websites that have them would have been taken down because they make money off of the ad revenue and use the song lyrics as a mean of getting them. Seriously....out of all the new things that are being added this is the most worst and ridiculous....everything else is perfectly fine by me because they don't affect me....but...I AM A MUSIC MAN. MY stories are music based and I created the inspired by music series and help popularized the music story genre....short of....Well in my head i did......ANYWAY....I might try to write something if i am in the mood or not....anyway see you later...unless i get censored but as the old saying goes...

Two things:
1. The copyrighted lyrics things isn't a punishment, it's so the music industry (which is DESPERATE for cash right now) won't have a good reason to bring a suit against the site. Yes we all know it's not for profit, but that's a flimsy defense at best in regards to fair use.
2. The fic you propose...I think that falls under the "no meta-stories" rule.
As for using lyrics in any story, if you have characters quoting the lyrics that's perfectly fine (read Ob's post here on the subject for more info----> Song Lyrics )
Just don't post massive blocks of copy/paste lyrics and you're ok.
