Lets talk about my favorite music · 9:29pm Oct 30th, 2013
I just felt like talking about this kind of stuff, because I love listening to music. Back when I had a PC to write on, I would often have something on in the background, usually on a browser tab for YouTube, and it helped a lot. So I think listing my favorite musicians down here would be a great idea. In no order...
Nightwish
Man...this kind of music appeals to a specific group of people, but if you fit, you'll have a good time. A symphonic metal group--think metal with some hints of movie style symphonies mixed in--their music feels epic and grandiose, almost like a movie, ironically. They are heavy but not harsh, and personally, I liked their last two albums with the more pop sounding singer better. She's not pop just yet...but she's closer than the opera like singer they used to have.
Imagerium is my favorite album of theirs, with at least five songs on there I adore.
P!nk
You know what's so weird about this singer? Whenever she tries to be in your face, it sounds like she's hiding the fact that she's crying on the inside. But when she bares all and goes vulnerable, she seems to be stronger than ever. Just compare So What and Try to see what I mean.
She might be pop, but I get the feeling she's more sincere with her stuff than most. It can get raunchy and occasionally stupid, but man, when she gets it right, she gets it right. Good Old Days just feels like the perfect summer song, and might even be the song of my life.
Daft Punk
I freaking love techno music. And they introduced me to that genre with One More Time. They have seen a resurgence with Get Lucky and the Tron Legacy soundtrack, and in general they're pretty fun to listen to. Not much else to say.
Kimbra
You know who she is, even if you don't know it. She was the girl singer in Somebody That I Used To Know. But she also released a solo album called Vows that might be one of the most well rounded albums I have ever heard. There's not one bad song here and the best songs are amazing.
You want a taste, look up Something In The Way You Are and Warrior. Trust me, you won't regret it.
Foo Fighters
Grunge music is perfect for me. It's heavy but not too much like heavy metal is. And this band is up there. Really, just combine this with Nirvana for me.
You get songs that relate to heartache, but they also have songs that can almost seem uplifting at times like Learn to Fly. That's a really nice sounding song where the lyrics are pretty solid.
Led Zeppelin
It's Led Zeppelin. They made Stairway to Heaven and they still had other masterpieces. That's all I have to say for them.
That's all for now. I wanna do this list for movies too, so maybe tomorrow ill do that for you.
You should release your playlist. I might hand you mine if you want it, something tells me you might like some of the stuff I listen to. Also good choice with Nightwish.
You have beautiful music taste. Here's a curveball for you. It miiiight be a bit out there:
